I was playing live tonight for only the 2nd time and one of the guys said to me I can always tell when you have a hand because your face goes red. Any idea in how I can conceal this?

Your tell will hide once you get more comfortable with poker. Relax, take slow breaths. Think about the first time you were drunk. Do whatever it takes to slow your heart down and not get stressed.

Grow a beard or wear a hoodie but don't wear the hood up (on your head) pull the hood around and hold it in front of your face while in a hand, I see a lot of players doing that.

Both Chris Ferguson and Phil Hellmuth have pretty good default tell-hiding strategies that are easy to follow, you can see them in this video:

Basically on every hand, every action, you put your elbows on the rail and clasp your hands in front of your mouth.

It doesn't cover everything, and obviously if your whole face is turning red it won't stop that, but it'll cover a lot of things. Aside from that I agree with the above, if you're only just starting playing live poker then a lot of things will work themselves out with experience as you get used to playing the game live.

It's something very common the first times mate. Don't hesitate about it! Eventually you'll learn to control it! :D

If I were you in that situation, I would use this tell to my advantage against the guy and try to make my face go red even with shitty hands and bluff the guy. I agree with other posters above though: as you get more comfortable and confident, your face won't get flushed anymore.

Some helpful advice here - the more you play the more comfortable you will be.

I doubt you really turn red when you get a good hand - people like pointing out things they "notice" at live poker tables. Take their comments with a grain of salt.

I once had some guy tell me my eyes get really big when I have a good hand and he then proceeded to talk himself into folding anytime I opened my eyes a little wider.

Didn't even have to look at my cards some hands, it was nice.

If your face really does turn red for whatever reason just use some makeup to cover it maybe.

Here are a few ideas that you should rule-out. Like Sherlock Holmes once said 'Rule out the stupid ideas and whatever is left is worth a shot'.

- Use enough fake tan (or skin dye) to make your face a permanent shade.
- Face tattoo
- Post risque pics of yourself on social media just before each game. Your face will always be red.
- a bag .. with two pin holes for you to see through.
- play ever hand blind (don't look at your cards).
- Fold pre .. your tell can never be used against you.
- AI pre .. you'll go red with a move like this and everyone will assume bullets.

His face is already turning red when he has a good hand, how much more red do you want him to get and for what purpose?

Use it. If he thinks you have a hand when your face goes red then make your face go red when your bluffing.
