I play 3/6 last 2 to 5 sessions have been winning ones I buy in full for 200 get up about 85 bucks or so then break even or lose 50 bucks .I then grab a beer go nuts on video poker maybe get back to even then eventually lose it all in exhaustion. Thing is I can never win more than than 100 bucks So I keep playing very patiently until the game wears me don no matter how good I play. By then I realize i'm stuck can only get back to up a little and decide to go play video poker. I feel like I have no control It hurts I could have won so many times if I just went home. If I just eek out these wins consistently then they would start to add up I believe.

I think you just need to be calmer while playing. Bad beats are just a part of the game too.

Study the game more, and enjoy playing. :D

Video poker is the crack cocaine of gambling. If you want to walk out the door a winner, you need your mindset to be determined before entering the casino. You should be there for the money, not the fun. Playing to win is a grind. You may need to train your mind to be more disciplined and serious. Sounds like you are very vulnerable in a casino/gambling setting.

Have win goals and loss stop limits before you go and stick with it. You will train your brain faster by doing more sessions with smaller wins more frequently. This will also give you momentum by feeling like a winner.

Try xxxflix's technique of 40xbuyin for br. Once you reached 4 buyins for the next limit, move up. If you bust out and go below the 40xbuyin of the previous level, then step down.

If you are playing NL games, the variance is high. I play with at least 100xbuyin to combat the swings. Money management will give you an edge to be more consistent.

Its like any sport.

You need to train, train again and then do that consistently over and over again.

In order to play + learn specially selected materials, see the instructional video. Not ostovatsya at the micros forever. Picking up a bankroll and finding the required amount of experience, you can go to tables with higher stakes. Read the article is not for beginners, the analysis of their own and others play, maximize winnings, minimize loss, penetrating the psychology and philosophy of this great game and get better and better.
Turn on the music that soothe you, and do not rush!
Good luck in the game!

Its like any sport.

You need to train, train again and then do that consistently over and over again.

You also need to realize that like any sport/competition - you can play basketball every day (I did as a youth), study chess constantly (I did as a teen), or practice golf nearly every day (I did as an adult) and still get nowhere close to being a professional. Poker is no different. Play the game for it's own sake . . . for enjoyment. It's a lot more realistic and you'll be a lot happier.

Cheers!

Very true I'm hyper aggressive and get a little out of control in casinos. The lure of the royals and quads usually kill me I don't play slots or blackjack and should just deal with my 75 dollar profit and leave,or move up to 1/3 nl for a higher margin.

Its very hard to beat online poker now . The rake in the small stakes ring games will bleed the table dry . Multi table tournaments usually offer better value , but you need to find the ones with good structure ( enough time at the lower level blinds so the early pyscho over- shovers get punished with their weak starting standards ). Tourney play is very high variance, of course , and some experts say to only risk 1% of your bankroll at a time ! I would not recommend rebuy events , with long late re entry either . Those can turn into bingo contests too , with the maniacs taking shot after shot at your carefully nurtured stack !

I also think we need to look for errors in your game... Then something is wrong. Or change the discipline!

I think you shouldn't be playing video poker at all if your serious about winning. Sure, you can win on video poker but only when the machine wants you to. When you play poker at the tables you have more control of your wins and losses. Try playing at poker at places where they only have poker ( if such a place exist in your area).

I've seeing an issue in ps. So many kinds of games finish to destroy ur good strategies in one or another. If u play good spin & go it's almost sure that u will sucks on tourneys. For newbies who don't know the difference it will be difficult to pass trough

if your only winning $100 a game then you deffintly have to either change the limit of the game or just study more and look for mistakes you are making in your game.. Playing video poker also when help you and you will end up losing in video poker because that is pure luck.. try to find leaks in your game and exploit players better
