Whenever I try to open Hold Em Manager, it says "Can not connect to 127.0.0.1" and tells me that if I am running Vista I need to have HEM running as admin (which I do) and Database Control Panel running as admin (which can not be modified as it seems) and User Access Control off (which I turned off recently), then it opens to Database Control Panel and shows me a lil screen for logging into PostGreql or whatever its called, but I can't connect, and it shows me what to do if I don't have it installed. But I do! It's always worked and then just stopped, I don't really know what to do here?

Help appreciated

ugh. I had this (or something really similar) happen to me. I uninstalled postgres one day, and when i went to reinstall it everything messed up, even though i had never had a problem. THe HEM forum tends to be quite helpful - what i ended up having to do was follow this whole procedure which involved uninstalling norton, turning off firewalls, and other stuff. Post on the HEM forum and they'll show you the right guide to go through.

Was a nightmare trying to get it started back up again tho

Just restart the postgres server, go start menu -> programs -> postgres -> restart server or if it's not started just do start server. idk why it does that but it's happened a few times to me and that's fixed it each time.

If I'm reading it right I think HEM always does that. Just close HEM, restart the postgres server, then start HEM again and see if that works. If it doesn't I have no idea.

The absolute best way to resolve issues with HEM is to visit the extremely helpful support site/forum

If it has not been discussed on the proper section, the admins give good answers
