I have seen some tables that have used vinyl stickers. But I don't know. Unless you want to risk ruining the felt, just let her be. You could have done it up real nice, tried to sew it with some other types of fabrics. You could also spray paint it on nice. Use stencils and painters tape for the different layers and colors. That might come out ok. Id avoid the sticker because of the possibility of catching the cards or chips.

Leave the center clean TBH.

Nice clean felt surface is my favorite. Like above said, you dont want to run the risk of the sticker coming off and fcking up the cards being pitched or... other complications.

Not enough info. Is the felt on the table yet? What material is dirrectly underneath it (wood, foam padding etc)? What grade of felt did you use and what vinyl (mill thickness/ shape etc.) are you trying to add?

It can be done but simply sticking a vinyl on top of the felt alone will cause problems as cards will catch on the edge of the vinyl if they are left exposed and it will eventualy peel off. Prestitching to the felt is the easiest option for the average craftsman, inlaying is a better method but requires much more skill to pull of perfectly. #1 method is screen printing if you want to add any graphics. Google is your freind to find easy do-it-yourself methods of screen printing.

3/4 plywood and 1/4 closed cell foam under the felt

I'd deffenitely consider screen printing. It's not that had to do and will give you a much better finished product than adding a vinyl. You can also add graphics for each seat position with the same method.

Check google for "how to" info on screen priniting.
