Hellmuth doesn't get that bluffing (and bad beats) are part of playing poker

When you are the LOSER, you don't tell everyone how YOU'D have played the hand.
What a jackass. You lost fair and square. There is no "should". Same rules for everyone.

What a sore loser. *Phil actually is the idiot. *
7% odds means you can actually win 7% of the time.
Phil seems to think 7% is 0% and only thinks in absolutes.

It's called bluffing. Get over it.

Whatever, Dwan went all in with pocket 10s, and hit trips. A little luck is part of the game.

If he won by going all in with K J, then tough sht.

Love him or hate him, he is qualified to say what he wants on opponents hands....let's be honest, we all wish we could vent on villians for playing stupid hands but we refrain because we dont want to sound like dicks......but we all think it....phil speaks it.....so to all the phil haters commenting on here, give your heads a wobble and stop talking tollies....ty

You can call him a jackass, you can call him a sore loser - but you can't call him an idiot and question his intelligence in regards to playing poker. :p

He didn't win all of those bracelets cause he is an idiot who can't calculate odds.

Sometimes, a bad play works out. Phil should understand this. He seems to be missing a basic concept of poker. Bad beats are part of the game. It's a GAME OF CHANCE.

No matter what anybody says about Phil, you can't possibly be an idiot and get all the bracelets he has.

You know what I am getting at.

Yes, I agree it’s horrific low-odds playing, but horrific playing pays off once in a blue moon. Phil needs to accept that. Alternatively, if Phil folded, it would have been a brilliant re-raise bluff, etc. Luck is part of the game.

Phil can’t adjust his game to play crappy amateur players. So he loses. He needs to know they will go in with wacky sht. A great player adjusts to the context.

He sure doesnt lol but he is very entertaining when getting bluffed especially by amateurs haha! You see it coming too once a hand start! He also tries to bluff sometimes and if it doesn't he also gets mad!

You got to respect his ability to play . . . and completely loathe his attitude. Regardless of however delusional he is, it makes fantastic entertainment.

This video warms my heart like a cute little puppy does -

Tony just punishes him so much! Did you enjoy it?

I can't believe you genuinely believe that he doesn't get something that simple. He has owned you. :p

I don't always like his behaviour - but I totally respect his poker skills. I also know that his antics are part of his strategy - he reacts like that not because he doesn't get the odds - but to tilt his opponents. It works most of the time.

He would be super pumped to think he might get on a table with some people who think like some of those in this thread. :)

Yeah he's a poker brat and he plays it well, but it tilts me when these forum regs say 'I don't care if he has 13 bracelets he's terrible' when they're sitting on maybe a few k's at best and he's a f'n millionaire.

^^ I think most people refer to cash when they say they would destroy him. From what I have seen he is pretty bad at cash, and when I say that it is completely relative. In no way am I comparing him to myself when I say that. Every cash game show I've seen he has played pretty bad, but again I respect his tournament play.

His ego gets in the way at cash games, just like in the video I posted above. So when people say they would love to play cash I kinda believe them.

This is also part of the problem, people forming opinions based on 'tv hands'. Plus, sample size etc.

I am in no doubt that his cash game is weaker than his tournament game and they are very different beasts at heart, but as you say it's all relative and a 'terrible' cash game from a multiple bracelet winner is likely still more than good enough to thrash the midstakes donks who scoff at him.

one of the first poker books i've ever read was phils. i remember getting chewed on by a player when i used one of the animal terms he used to classify a players ability. this guy interupted my chat with someone else to tell me that i was a donky for reading his book.
the only thing this dummy was right about is that i had read the book. my poker play got much better after identifying my weaknesses.
phil is no dumb dumb, an out spoken fool at times but no dumb dumb. it would be my pleasure one day to out play or badbeat him in a hand and have him rail against the machine on the poker floor.

Every time I see him lose it's because "the other guy played his hand wrong" such a sore loser.
