I know there are a few people here that wear them.

My question is, how come? I tried it a little bit when I first started playing but found it to be a little distracting..and I was worried I would miss something going on at the table.

Plus wearing them and listening to music also kind of limits your conversation so really limits the fun you can have I feel.... now I'm playing very low stake tournaments and cash games so probably a little different if you are playing in say a wsop event where I am sure everyone is all SERIOUS BUSINESS.

Past couple weeks however i've been paired with a few real loudmouth serious business donkeys and I've just so happened to have my tunes handy..kind of a godsend.

I basically never leave home without my MP3 player, but I've never felt the need to use it at the table, and I honestly think it's -EV -- the only reason you could have to use it is zoning out distracting noises, and I do a pretty good job of that by myself.

There shouldn't be any electronic devices allowed at, or near the poker table. They could be used for cheating! This should also include things like cell phones, a watch, calculator,ect....

It's very difficult to use radios/cellies to cheat, b/c it would require someone else to know Villain's hole cards. Live events are broadcast with a delay to prevent precisely that.

I would hate cell phones being banned at the table because smartphone Apps are the only way you can keep a HUD at a live table. And I like HUDs.

While I was watching the EPTBerlin today there were a few people wearing ear phones and they were asked to take them off as they are forbidden

I see a lot of people wear them around here and they seem to be more of a distraction. Most of the people that wear them seem to be the one having to ask the dealer how much and the like. i prefer not to wear them so I don't mis out on action. even if not in the hand you can listen to people and maybe pick up tells from their speech paterns

That can't be true. Several players use headphones in HSP, and I think I may have seen some at WSOP though I haven't watched a WSOP event in a while.
