Yes. Time to time we need to evaluate how it affects us and life. So far so good.

I never thought about quick poker, I know a lot of people who plays at least once a week and I'm a very lucky guy, most of the time I win, online maybe a few times it's very frustrating when a dud calls a good raise with 8-3 off and won the hand.

When I saw this question, I smiled. Just coming back from a long break. I have had minor success in the game and have had to invest so much time into playing and learning. Life force me to prioritize and I had to invest my time doing other things. Now, I am back and hopefully to stay this time.

The game is fun and as long as you focus on the fun and learning as well as developing the discipline, the money and success will come. I seriously have to work on my discipline - I always blow bankroll management after a while I get impatient and take everything to a high stakes ring table or big tournament buy-in and poof - back to broke! I guess this is the same for many players and I really need to break away from that mold.

Not yet, of course. Perhaps you should limit your playing time a little so that there are no such ideas?

I also think that it is necessary to devote time to rest from poker. Saturation of the long game contributes to errors.

I’ve sworn off the slots this year, and sticking with poker (mostly tournaments). I used to get that feeling as I was sitting in my car in the casino garage, thinking, “I’m the A-hole that they have the 800 number for.”. But now that I’m sticking to just poker, I feel like I’m playing better and smarter.

I haven't thought about it yet. I just joined poker and didn't lose anything. I haven't even made a Deposit at the moment. I am studying. If I do not see any progress in the future, then I will just stop playing for a while. Poker is not my livelihood.

I believe that once you really like poker it is very difficult to stop it permanently, it is possible for some time more always come back to play.
I am in agreement with you, one always comes back but it can be very frustrating.

Yep. Really enjoy live poker, but it is just too inconvenient. Online if flooded with bad beats, bad bets and they generally detract from the skill level that would ordinarily do well. That being said I still play periodically online, generally lose, and need another hobby. Good luck.

When I play in tournaments, I turn off the computer and go to bed. but the next day everything is going on. I like to play poker. yet there is no reason to give up forever.

Great question. All players thought about it. The answer to it is not as simple as it seems at first glance.
