You may have heard some stories of people who are addicted to playing poker or have watched in the movies, for example, the bad side that poker can bring. As in the forum there are people who play for fun or maybe even live in poker, then, the question arises: Have you ever met a poker addict?

Tell me your stories.

I am one, I just don't go to extremes. The most I've ever lost in one night is 2k playing 1/2. My brother also. He has less impulse control plus the Casino he played at had a 24hr poker room. He's had a $3400 stack in a 1/2 game with a max $500 buyin and he was only up $900. Then if you extend that to just gambling he's even worse. Example he just put $4k on McGregor.

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of us (on Cardschat) are poker addicts to some extent. Without looking up the definition though, is it addiction if you play a few hours a day, most days, but you don't lose much, if any money and it's not taking time away from others in your life? I spend a lot more money on coin collecting that I'll never regain. That's 'lost' money. I spend a lot of time taking my dog for walks and runs - she doesn't seem to mind. I know I'm addicted to my dog.

Well if McGregor surprises the world, It will pay well. I thinks that bet is kind of like a lottery ticket though ... lol. We shall see soon.

At the beginning of the year I was addicted to spin & go, I played spin & go of 100 dollars, having a bankroll of 200 dollars aepnas .. Thank God I have control, it is game for pleasure, in the deputy to make great prize.

We are on the same boat. When i was new poker player, i felt hard to stopped playing when lose. Nowadays i trying to control my playing time, like max playing 3 hours and then stop, doesn't matter i win or lose.

Yes, my friend liked poker for money and casinos lost much there, but after the ban in Russia, gambling ceased to be dependent

Well hopefully your brother isn't too disappointed! If I had $4k to risk I woulda easily put it on Mayweather, I know it's easy to say now that it's over but I was team money the whole time. It's his comfort zone and he's such a strategic fighter. Those first 3 rounds though were surprising

I'm not a poker addict, but maybe a little obsessed right not. I got the poker bug again after a five year break. I have avoided some social activities with friends to stay home and play poker.
I get home from works and I pull out the laptop and start joining tournaments, and I play til I go to bed. So does that make me an addict?......well maybe.

I have many friends who are really addicted to poker because they put all their money in this game, when they lose they get desperate and say they will never play the poker again, we know that when it gets to this point these people rarely stop, they end up with friendships and with their families Because of the game, it's a sad reality, poker has its good things, but it also has its black side

I might qualify as one, during the last 2 or 3 months I've been playing for more than 8 hours a day, fortunately I haven't spent any money yet.

Yeah I now somebody, he is putting all his money into poker and when the balance is back 0$ he puts back money it. He talks about: bankroll management is shit, takes to much time and prizes are low: at the end: after 1 year 3000$ lost

Hahaha I am also a poker addict .. but I met a teammate in the league who played every Friday for the middle .. who drove an omnibus and while driving, used to play and passengers went up and there were times they did not pay the ticket Because he was so entertaining that he could not charge them so they were free.
