im just curious if anybody have encountered this. i was at a mtt at pokerstars 180 players we were doen to ten. i was the big blind and somebody got illiminated in my table. when we went to the final table i was once again the big blind.

i contacted the poker stars report and they told me that seating is at random. what i was wondering is i have been playing poker everyday for almost 3 years now and this is the first time i encountered this. and when they told me that seating is at random. if it is there should be more incident of becoming the big blind twice in two consecutive hand.

and lastly would it be better if the program will seat you based on how long you have been the big blind?

any comment on this?

thanks

Totally standard imo.

That happens to me on more or less a daily basis when I am transfered from one table to another.

I mostly don't even recognise.

Last time I did was when I was moved 3 times in a row and hit BB,SB,BB.

Yea it happens. It isn't really a concern unless the blinds are really high and you are really short.

It's happened to me a few times and it's really annoying but then again I find it far more common to avoid paying the BB due to being moved and/or someone to my right getting knocked out. I suppose you've just got to take the rough with the smooth and hope you don't get BB'd twice when you're really deep.

Well it's normal yeah. Someone has to pay the BB on the final table or it wouldn't start, so it has to be random.

It happens alot..thats the disadvantage of playing online, there is no way to avoid the big blind twice when moved since you are instantenously "sat down" at another table...in a live tourney you can "stall" on your way over to your newly assigned table (unless of course its the final table in which case you'll have to be present for the seat drawing) but I have regularly done this over the years when a table would break mid-tourney I'd quickly glance over and if I saw the BB was a seat away from my assigned slot at the new table I'd take a few extra seconds to check how a buddy was doing or even go get a rack for my chips, even if I knew I could easily carry them without it.

Live tournament rules say you get penalised if you're caught doing that. IMO the online system is actually better because the honest players aren't disadvantaged by angle shooters like you.

That happens more often than not. You'd think the software would guard againist this but it doesn't. This really hurts when you have a small stack and you're at the bubble.

Erm... no and no. The first bit is almost certainly selective recall and as for the second point it should be RANDOM, not guarded against.

i've had it happen, but with final table mostly ... i think when you get moved, then it is less likely, they try to be fair and put you approx. the same distance from blinds

but final table is random and it makes sense ... your seat at final table can be so important .... if you are in a nice stealing seat, then that can be just what you need to win, conversely if you got a big stack with a bullseye on you ... it can be frustrating if you dont wake up with some nice hands

I even once got seated in the BB 3times in a row, on PS...
twice happens at times, but usually they put you in ABOUT the spot where you were at the last table...

Seems to me I notice it skipping my blinds more often when guys get knocked out, then me taking double BBs when I am moved.

They told me it was worked out at the amount of hands to BB ratio.
