I pretty much hate having bad cards at any time, but all that does is make you have to get creative with how you play them.

Depends on your definition of "bad cards". I see 7 4 os in BB, I think "Low flop = big pot to me". Depending on game level/type, it's not about the cards you hold, it's about how to take advantage of the situation presented to you. If the flop comes 8 high, chances are (yes you're probably beat but that dosn't matter), nobody connected, and a fairly stiff bet just might take the pot. They think "Shit, BB hit two pair with two randoms..." or something like that. Sometimes it dosn't matter how bad the cards are if you keep your eyes open to the situations that may be good for rags.

Actually the BB is the 2nd best place on the table to have bad cards.

In Phil Gordon's little green book, he explains that you have a negative expectation in the blinds. You are not expected to make money from there. However the big blind can supply you with a lot of trap hands, and can make it hard for your opponent to put you on the hand that you hold.

I don't mind having bad cards on the BB - easy fold.
What I do hate though is having mediocre hands like QJo.
- if it is limped around to the BB I don't really want to raise (oop).
- if it is minraised do I want to call oop ?
- if I hit something on the flop like J,8,2 I always seem to run into a better kicker..

Why would you hate to have bad cards on the big blind? Sometimes you can just check. Since as sld2 mentionded the blinds are negative expectation, you should just play straight forward and not overplay your blind.

In a way I like the blinds as I get to play crap cards in very creative ways.

I expect to get poor starting hands in the BB, and it really surprises me if I get something good. That's when I have to decide whether to just limp or make some kind of bet. However, if I get Big Slick, the flop always seems to come rags. LOL.
