I have seen on several sites that danish high stakes player Gus Hansen has gone broke and is hiding somewhere out in the desert. I dont hope it is true but have anyone of u guys heard anything.

I havent heard anything about this, but like you I hope it isnt true because Gus is one of the good guys and I really like his poker style.

I have heard that he owes $4 million to the "Big Game" players, ie Doyle Brunson, Chip Reese, Barry Greenstein, Phil Ivey...


I have heard this from a respectable poker site, it could be made up though...


With the way he plays, it is possible that he could be $4 million in the hole especially at the stakes those guys above play at (win or lose a couple million a night)

That would be so COOL! Watching him suck out so often makes me want to vomit!! Actually probably just a matter of time for him to bust unless he has a billionaire backer!

And I play there a lot,realy good acctually.

Well i know he is running pokerchamps.com but do u think there is enough monye in that site to play a million or two a night. I doubt it.

Seems hard to believe with all the ways to invest your money that someone would blow it all and not have anything to retire on. Besides what is "broke" to Gus? Only having a couple million in the bank instead of 5 or 6?

I don't think there is much credibility to this.... Anyone have a link to any websites or articles talking about this?
This is like saying Tiger Woods lost all of his money having driving competitions with other golfers. Or Michael Jordan loosing all his money in Freethrow contests. I just don't see it.
Now myself on the other hand, I can see myself hiding in the desert pretty soon if my cards don't start getting better!!!!! :creep:

lol that is a very good point but i think it is possible that he went broke but it would be sad to see him go with all of his sucess on the WPT

Broke. I doubt it. If by "hiding in the desert" you mean Las Vegas, probably.

Hansen appears to be one of the luckiest players alive. If he is smart though he would have invested alot of his winnings so he could be set for life. He probably has done that but if not he might just be an action player who has giant swings. Better hope his luck holds up if that is the case.

God, I can see Phil Ivey and Doyle kncoking on Gus's door with a basball bat and Gus trying to leave out the window, God that would make my day! lol

no gus hansen is not broke he is playing in casino royal in AArhus Denmark in

live games. he is just home to play with all the Danish fans.

but it was a good one lol.
