Rumours has it that GH lost about 4 mill a couple of years back in a vegas cash game. His BR low he continued his normal play style unabated. Seems he regained his BR :)

How many 'players' out there do you think will have the name Gus Hansen, as a homage to their hero?

I'd bet that's probably not even him.

There are a few pros that play FT, Gus Hanson, Mike "the mouth", Phil helmuth, just to name the ones I know that play there.
Think about it, how many ppl do you know who are willing to play 10s of thousands at online poker if they were not a pro and if these players were not the pros they claim to be why not just take out the considerable profit they have made? $40k+ would be a huge profit for players like you and me to have on any poker site considering that all the sites that I play have a certain MAX deposit limit.
That's something you should think about, I can tell by your post count your new to this site and the regular members here with a post count of 500+ know that pros really play at numerous poker sites.

I know this. I also know that Gus plays at numerous sites with different names including 'broksi', 'bsg1', 'havoc14' and 'waddello', NONE being 'Gus Hansen'.

I don't dispute the fact that Pro's play online, i do dispute the fact that this isn't Gus Hansen shown in the screendump and that other people aside from pro's actually play for big money.

As for your quip about my 'post count', come on - just because i'm new to the forum dosn't mean i've got any less knowledge. I've been playing and studying holdem for the past 5 years.

Im sure the pros are not even playing with their own money. The sites give them money to play with.

And that is Gus Hansons screen name on full tilt... look it up - its in the chat with the pros section.

Who really cares Gus or not Gus, most of us never will afford "high stick poker"
anyway.

Go to full tilt. Click on the chat wit the pros tab. Look at the May 20th chat event with Gus Hansen "FTOPS main event chat" now search his name in requests / find a player. Gus Hansen is registered in the FTOPS tourny and his name shows up in red. Its Gus Hansen.

poker name cybersquatting

I don't doubt that the pros play online, and I would hope that all the poker sites let them have ownership of their exact names, if wanted. Remember the old 'cybersquatting' over web names, with movie stars and such? Similar situation. I was playing in a tourney last year against 'Doyle Brunson'. Who knows if it was really him. But it sure gets the blood going.

I think Full Tilt pays them to play under their real names. If you check their site they have an "our team" list -- all of those guys are being paid and Hansen is one of them. His bio pages claims that he "plays online exclusively at Full Tilt".

The pros are listed in red on site so you can know that you're up against a pro.
