It is almost time for the wsop 2018 to begin! We have a great guide that covers it all!

Take a look at this:

Guide to WSOP 2018

You will find this year's schedule, past winners, the history of the WSOP and lots of other interesting facts and information.

This thread is for discussion of the events, players, winners, predictions etc. Let us know if you plan on attending and add any other interesting topics related to this year's WSOP.

Then let's answer this question:

If you were given $10,000 to play in WSOP events this year - which event or events would you choose? The schedule of events is on the page linked above and also here:

I'll be there for the CC team event again(collosus). I've always wanted to play a HORSE event, plo hi lo and even a mixed games event.

I've played in the main before, but as usual, couldn't withstand tournament variance. If things go good for me this time around, I'll def be hoping in the millionaire maker (maybe even a few more nlhe events)! oh yea, will likely be grinding cash bc the tables are soft af during wsop(just gotta get the ole lady off my back for a few ;)...may tell her to go sit at the pool for awhile)

I'm looking forward to railing from afar, once again! Can't wait! I LOVE the Team CardsChat events - always so much fun! I can only imagine what it would be like if I were there..lol.

I will never participate but would love to rail!

And Stephen? if you are winning, I'm pretty sure your lady won't mind hanging out at the pool or the craps or roulette table? (couldn't remember which one she liked) ;)

Hehe roulette! :D and yep, I'm sure she won't mind.

I look forward to the rail from you all here back at CC. It's really a confidence booster!

Unfortunately I'm far far away from having the financial opportunity to participate in this big event.

But if I was given 10,000$, I would choose:

-the 1,500$ Eight Game Mix
-the 1,500$ No Limit Holdem
-the 1,500 Limit Holdem
-the 1,500 RAZZ
-the four 888$ Crazy Eights NL Holdem events

If I were given $10k bankroll for the WSOP this year, it would certainly be tempting to just play the Main Event, for the experience if nothing else. It would be a dream come true, and well, who knows what would happen. On the other hand, rather than put all my eggs in one basket, and since I've never played live, it might be smarter (and more fun) to play several of the lower buy-in events (anything from $250- $1500 buy-in), the structure of which are closer to online MTT's, but which still have massive payouts (with 1st place paying in the $100Ks into the millions). Maybe one day, I'll actually have the bankroll to debate these options, but for now I'll stick to freerolls and micro stakes cash.

That's tough!

I would be realllllly tempted/interested in playing #56 RAZZ Championship for $10,000 but my ultimate dream-come-true-OMG is the No-Limit Holdem Main Event for $10,000.

Okay, let me revise my previous post. With $10,000 I would play in the Main Event or I would split it up like this:

#15 H.O.R.S.E. for $1,500
#20 No-Limit Holdem for $5,000

Then come back from Vegas and play online:

#63 WSOP.com Online NL Hold'em High Roller for $3,200

Of course I guess I am like the most people, who would like to play in the main event.
But probably I also would split it somehow. I guess I would try to play some daily Deep Stacks for warming up. Maybe I also would mix in some GIANTs and maybe I would play the Event for the ladies. It has a good buy-in and nice structure.
#57: $1,000/$10,000 Ladies No-Limit Hold'em Championship.

But I am amazed, I didn't know that there are some team events of CC there so far.
Really nice, and good luck to all members who are playing there!!!!

The online event would be also great like Empress said. I guess, at least I would feel more save somehow. But I agree with Empress, it is really hard to decide.

Event #10 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship $10,000

Players will be less than in hold'em and the odds of winning will be more and it's my favorite game at the moment.

if I had $10,000, I did not hesitate to register for the event NL Hold'em Super Turbo Bounty, immediately for the entire amount. hoping to knock a couple of dozen players. and maybe even win the tournament. dreams, dreams. where is your sweetness.

I'd be hired as dealer, play Employee tourny and/or Dealer's Choice against players who know nothing about poker, would quit after 2 days or would be fired when they realize I know nothing about dealing.
I hope it will be enough to collect money for Main Event.

I would never play MILLIONAIRE MAKER tourny, even for given money.

In this case, i think that is possible to distribute a little in 4 tournaments:

#71 No Limit Hold'em (5,000)
#54 No Limit Hold'em (3,000)
#73 Double Stack NL Hold'em (1,000)
#45 No Limit Hold'em (1,000)

What an event!! Very impressive! Very big! I wish my poker way passes through it some time! Patience!! If I had the 10000$ I would play to the main event!
