So I have been around the poker game for quite some time. I know how to play every game, at average if not above average. Now many players tend to post and say stick to one style and master it. And do that forever to make money. Solid idea not against it, but not completely for it.

I struggled to be a good cash player for years, in the stupid micros of all places. Yet I can say I managed to play 200nl at a few points of my cash game.

I am best at tourneys, I know this, this is my strong suite. I analyze and do my best to run deep and most often do. I have hit more than 10 FT and cashed 1st place more than once. No bracket yet haha but working on it

All this aside, I want to know, is it good to be great in all aspects on poker or to just strictly focus on 1 thing.

Truth be told inget rather bored sometimes in long MTTs and have worked hard to improve my 6h game showing profit.

Does anyone else grind more than 1 thing? I grind cash to pay for my MTTs since MTTs do not pay out as often.

Thoughts?

I can play all the different poker disciplines available on the poker sites. I go through fazes of what I play just because I get bored of playing just one game. I really should focus on my PLO cash as I believe that is my strongest.

I agree I phase a lot also. Bc some days tours are brutal. Today I lost 7 domination hands. AT-AK vs ax ;(
Made me want to puke. 7 back 2 back is scary

2 or three I can handle.

But come on. Lol them cash was no better. I need to stop haha

firstly i think you massively overestimate your ability, but thats ok i think its natural to and we all do it. secondly i think that it depends what you play poker for, if its just for fun and for something to do then mix in whatever you prefer. If you want to maximize your winnings then focusing on one or the other is optimal.

I think is more about what you enjoy most.

im playing S&G´s and cash and doing ok on both, at this time i enjoy more cash, but feel that if drop S&g´s will get burn playing just cash. it happen to me before, used to play just S&g´s/Mtts or drop that and play just cash. But after time get borred with just one. So now im playing both and so far keep me motivated to try improve on both.

is better to focus on one?, yes, but at the end is about what is best for you.

As motivated to play. IMO.
However I want to make the most money for my buck
