If you have never seen The Sting, you have missed out on great movie. It is the story of a group of con-men who set out to fleece a vicious gangster who killed their mentor. It revolves mostly around horse racing but also contains this, one of the best poker scenes to ever grace the silver screen. This scene is the "set up" to push the gangster into wanting to get even with the bookie.

I don't believe so, but the "big con" they pull is probably something that happened more than once.
