I never wanted to read these books because I figured they would be out dated but man, I am glad I got them! Will help a great deal when I decide to give live Casino play a shot

Phil Gordons Little Green Book

Harrington on Holdem Volume 2

All for $5 :D

Check your local Goodwill!

That sax riff from the Thrift Shop song just started in my head. :) Cool score on the books. I found bunch of good ones on Craigslist a while back.

Nice!! I never thought about that. I like to see what the local library has, but they don't have the top books.

Great deal on them books,
I remember I found A bunch of poker books in A thrift store one time and was dirt cheap.
I remember there was super system, ace on the river, small stakes hold em, a book on internet mtts, and several others.
My greatest book find though from A thrift store wasnt poker related but fly fishing related, someone donated the whole collection of saltwater fly fishing books (like 50 of them).and I got them for .25 a piece.

I picked up a couple of zippered pokerstars hoodies from the SallyAnne Thrift Store & a Phil Helmuth poker book (which I promptly re-donated).

The fact that poker books are showing up in "good will" bins and tag sales speaks volumes about the status of the game. The high point has passed and I'm not sure there will ever be another. The initial enthusiasm that brought people into the game who might never had come in before is long gone. The tremendous TV exposure that was primarily responsible for the poker boom has also waned and since poker shows cannot generate the advertising dollars that they did only a few years ago the good poker shows are few and far between. Take advantage and scoop up all the reading material you can for as little as you can. I keep all of my poker books and refer back to them frequently.

Nice find on the Harrington book. I have a big box of poker books but they were lost in my move from Jersey back to Pittsburgh 5 years ago. Wish I could find them (

Library used book sales are also a good place to look, assuming that the library even has any left to get rid of. I've noticed that poker books are few and far between in libraries.

That is true and if legalization laws keep passing in states, you never know.

That is an awesome steal and some great books, when I first picked back up playing poker the first thing I did was read super systems 1 & 2, still a lot of great things in them despite being older poker books! Definitely am going to check out the good will in the next few days see if I cant have some lucky finds like you!
