What poker books are worth the time/money to read? I'm interested in pretty much any kind of books on Hold em' since I play tournaments and cash games. I don't play limit poker, just no limit.
Thanks you very much.

The Theory of Poker, Harrington Holdem Vol 2 were the best I have read.

Before spending your hard earned $ try looking in your local library. I was surprised to find mine had a few poker strategy books available. "Killer poker online 2" is the last one I checked out and I've renewed it several times already; there is just so much to absorb.
There is a pretty good note taking section in the book. IDK how many ppl actively take notes but its very helpful to me

Almost every decent poker book is available as a free PDF somewhere. It's just a matter of looking. ;)

I'd recommend David Sklansky's work, as well as some strategy books by top pros such as Dan Harrington's Harrington or Hold 'Em, or Gus Hansen's Every Hand Revealed. More importantly though, be sure to not just take the advice at face value -- analyze the why of every move described, then choose the style you're most comfortable with and try and blend the advice into your own strategy.

I think all harrington's books are very good, but nowadays, read and discuss in forums seems an interesting tool for studying.

At least a substantial minority of players in poker forums are losing players. :p Shit in, shit out.

Well yeah I mean, forums are definitely good, it's just you wanna be careful not to take bad advice from a crappy player on them. It's tougher than with books written by recognized pros that already have six-figure winrates.

I also recommend the Harrington on Holdem series if you are interested in tournament poker. They are a little old now, but the information in them is still really valuable.

Specifically, the 3rd book in the series is a "workbook" full of real hands that happened between pro's in big tournaments. The book presents many hands as a series of multiple choice questions on every street (What would you do here -- A,B,C or D)

In the next paragraph Harrington tells you what the person actually did in real life, then which option he thinks is the right one, and goes in depth explaining the reasoning behind each choice.
Reading that book and getting into Dan Harrington's head (along with other multiple big-name-pro's) was such a great learning experience. It helped me to see the big picture more clearly and got me thinking about Tournament poker on an entirely new level.
