Would you have folded this, this is a re-buy tourney in its re-buy period and I always try to see how far I can make it without having to re-buy.
Not that I can't afford the re-buy just don't want to get too comfy making calls I wouldn't normally do in a normal MTT.

Umm this is pretty much the easiest call ever.

If you're not gonna adapt your strategy to play rebuys, don't play them. Folding AK here is really, really weak-tight.

Dorkus is completely right, You must call because you need to accumulate chips in a rebuy tourny. I learned this the hard way always trying to play tight and early in rebuys but you simply cant catch up.

I would be willing to bet based on this hand that you did not make the money or just broke the bubble. Getting chips early on will help you get further in the tourny way the payouts are worth the effort of rebuys.

You are very right about the wrong move, but as the thread says "based on a gut instinct", and thats all it was, normally I would have went all-in here but i had just made a bad move at the right time I guess.

folding "based on gut instinct" i must say is usually a very good thing. I've folded, called bluffs based on gut instinct and most of the time I was right.
Technically or theorically, the pros would say you should of called all-in but its always a tough choice.

Good fold in the end, saved you a rebuy.

Actually I think calling here isn't so much a function of the need to accumulate chips as the probability of it. I think in a re-buy situation, you can dramatically lower your opponents' ranges for everything: what they call with, raise with, and go all-in with. I'd call that in a split second and then wouldn't be surprised to see like 33 and A9o. Sometimes you'll see AA but them's the breaks, I think the odds favour the call in a re-buy for sure.

OMG, i'd call 5 all-in in one of them Stars rebuys with AK, probably even with AJ. The majority of the time your up against total rags.

BTW If your playing these be prepared to re-buy several times, i usually set myself 8.
