Hey, AG... when you have time can you post a summary or review of the book? I was thinking of getting it, and you write a better review then 90% of the reviewers at sites like amazon and such.

Heard good things about it on multiple forums. Planning to get it soon as well.

word?

I've never even heard of it...

The topic is obviously focused, but Lessinger is an excellent writer, and he gets you thinking about opportunities to bluff. He gives you different scenarios, and tries to quantify how common the bluff is (how often that situation arises), and the chance of the bluff's success. Clearly you can't always but a dead on certain percentage on something like that, but his rankings give you a pretty good idea of the success rate, especially as compared to other bluffs.

I won't disagree with AG, but I'll say this: Lessinger writes well. He in fact writes so well that it's easy to forget that what he's saying might actually be bad advice.

I liked the book because it - unlike virtually all other poker literature at the time this book was published - took care of writing about bluffs. But, because of it's purpose, it overdoes it. The categorization of bluffs is based on "how often do they work" vs. "difficulty." Both of these classifications are usefless without the "hi, how big is the pot and what pot odds am I offering" question asked, but still.

This^^. I was hinting at the problem with quantification of a bluff earlier; but still he gets you thinking about situations and opportunities that you might not have before.
