Never ever quit day job for poker , i mean never. unless hit 200k or more . then also should open a small business instead of quiting all total. so always keep a side income besides poker

Seems silly to quit your day job, especially since you can play poker in your off hours

Multiple streams of income are always important, no matter what you are doing! I made more playing poker in 2015, than all 3 of my other income streams put together. In 2014 most of my income came from dealing cards. Next year I should have a big windfall from the stock market. Each year it seems to be different, but you have to keep it coming from multiple directions all the time. Just having a single income stream leaves you vulnerable and is too risky.

Learn to be a dealer, that way you can always be in the game. I have picked up a ton from dealing the wsop, it has made me a much much better player.

Sites may ban huds, but there is no way for them to know you are using them so f-them. Use them anyways.

Online is tough to be a pro, I suggest you play live instead if you choose to make majority of money playing, less risk all around and faster payouts

Agreed 100% . live is always better than online games. faster ´payouts and softer fields esp in lower level cash games

I think they prohibit the use of the HUD will only help to show who play real poker. Poker is a game to collect information from opponents and study it.

There are poker rooms where you are allowed to use HUD. In networks such as iPoker, Microgaming and others.

about being a pro

https://www.cardschat.com/news/being-a-poker-pro-in-2015-has-it-gotten-harder-17681

Everyone that has either aspirations or delusions of becoming pro should read this article.
If thew major online rooms continue to limit the use of HUDs, which in my opinion is necessary for their success the chances of making a living from online poker will be further diminished so don't quit your day job.

i never quit my day job. i play online a lot. i plan to play a live tourney this year.and hope to win enough money that i can pay some bills even help for a down payment for a small house and maybe even start a small business. so i can be my own boss.

Actually, a real professional aspires to play against the worst competition possible at all times, especially when building his or her bankroll. You do not need to play against superior competition to continue to get better.

If you can, consistently, earn more per hour from poker than from your day job, then why not?

The relevant term here is consistently. If you can do this for a year playing during your non-working hours then it has to be worth a try.

Fire up PokerStove whilst playing on PS and see if they can detect what you are using.
