with people at home, do you think a lot of people can go bankrupt by playing too much?

Hopefully not but with more time on people’s hands you never know. I guess it could get bad.

I sincerely hope not, but just like any other activity that can cost a lot of money, things can get dangerous quickly if not properly managed. If poker or gambling is a vice in life where you cannot control your spending, people should not get into playing online poker to begin with.

Sadly I think this might be the case. People will lose and chase their losses, a downward spiral. Everyone has a lot of time on their hands and it is not all going to be spent constructively (ditto their bankrolls).

I don't know that people will go bankrupt. I think most people with an interest will put some money on a site and once that is gone, they will find something else to pursue.

It might accelerate the process for a few desperate people who think they have nothing else to lose.
Thankfully I had several months of reserve saved up, but I haven't brought in any new cash in weeks. Hopefully the economy can open back up sooner rather than later.

I'm playing at least 12 hours a day online. Cash and small tournaments. I play two or three tables at one time on any given site.

When I play on pokerbros i notice that over 40 percent of the time i will have the Same cards or combination of cards on at least two of the tables at the same time. Hands are being chased to the river and made every when they shouldn't even be played in the first place. I notice it a little with other site but not like pokerbros.

wsop and ACR I go real deep in tournaments. I can't even come close to placing on there.

Am I the only one seeing this? Lol my own sub conscience trying to cover up my Donk moves lol.

I sincerely hope not, but I was concerned about the same thing. There are a lot of new fishies in the pond throwing a lot of buy in in there. I know when I was brand new I didn't know much about BR management.

As always it depends on financial discipline and bankroll management. As more people play there is chance more people to go bankrupt. Since the beginning of quarantine pokerstars always shows popup with gambling addiction warning on first login so obviously there is some fear of possible increase of bankrupting gambling addicts.

bankruptcy for online poker I don't think so, poker is a game of discipline and control of your bankroll it is more likely that people addicted to gambling lose all their money in casino games usually causes great losses to gambling addicts

personally anyway. I am still bankrupt with or without quarantine. I always play all my banckroll roulette and I can never get away from it. luckily I don't have a casino next door. because I will probably already have lost all my savings.

No way not me personally my bankroll after growing a little this month will be kept in lock down as much as possible.:)
But yes a minority of players will always lose big rolls playing poker either way ruining themselves due to no self control and sadly many will suffer bankruptcy without any control mainly due to this epidemic with the amount of businesses closed and unemployment high we are heading towards a great worldwide depression.

This is a purely individual question. If the player is disciplined and patient, then the losses do not threaten him. If a player does not have the patience and discipline, there is always a risk of losing a bankroll or even more.
