let your girl take the reigns once in awhile. I was washing dishes and shadowing my gf from the kitchen. Even when she got frustrated with some donk she was slowly being pulled towards the deck

That must be nice. My wife has never had any interest in poker, and I am quite certain she never will.

That's great news for you. Both playing might put a strain on y'alls relationship, but if she hated poker it could end it.

My daughter is the only female I know who really, really plays. When she was on summer break the year before last, she hounded me to teach her how to play. I thought she just wanted to know hand rankings or the basics of the game. She told me should could look that up on the internet. I told her it would take time. She guilt tripped me by suggesting that I didn't want to spend time with her. She had me. I don't know why I was even the slightest bit hesitant to teach her. She is, I am very proud to say (but it's more than a parents pride), the smartest person I know. Learning things is easy for her, and poker was no exception. Recently her boyfriend was told that if he ever brought her to a poker game again that he would no longer be invited. I get a kick out of trying to imagine his face as he tells my daughter that she can't play anymore because she's too good.

That is really cool.

I find that for the most part (at least in my experience) women are horrible poker players, and they are transparent at the table. And they often try to capitalize on foolish men.

That sounds like a really cool bond you two share. Good stuff.

When I saw this thread title I thought maybe it would be something more salacious...but it's just poker. Carry on.

My wife hates poker...partly because she doesn't really get into card games, but mostly because she I'm not spending time with her. I get her point, but I really enjoy poker and unfortunately it's a hobby that seems to take a lot of time. If I' working on my Mustang and she needs me to come inside to help her with something, I just put down my tools - but if I'm at a poker table, sitting out for a couple hands can be difficult, especially if I'm in a crunch situation or those hands are potentially game changing.

If I do win in a satellite, I still have yet another tournament to steal time away from her - and she doesn't seem to be persuaded by the fact that I could potentially win money.

I give kudos to you then for having your girlfriend be so enthusiastic for the game.

yeah even my gf is starting to get the itch to play. She's all about getting into what I'm into... but poker took some time for sure. She's been playing on her iphone for play chips and having a blast telling me about a double up hand from the day.

Not too long ago I was playing in the Carbon $50 omaha hi 6max FR and I had to take off for a gig. I told her she had to finish the game for me because i was doing so well, had a nice chip stack. Told her the just of omaha Hi and said, if you're not raising preflop your folding. She stuck to that and ended up making the money (top 30 for .60c or something) It was awesome! She was thrilled lol.

thanks for all the post. I am happy to say i have a scheduled time every day to put in a few hours and that seems to be working for her. She can plan around it. Also all the emotions are in the other room and she doesnt have to watch me pull my hair out
