Getting beat by people who draw out!!!!!
Hey, just now i'm playing 5 seater 2.50 tournys on bet365
, i've not been doing to bad, allways getting to at least 3rd (where you get your money back less the house money of 25c) and coming at least runner up 50% of the time.
I play tight and fairly aggressive (i think ) and have a problem which is REALLY starting to annoy me. If I flop top pair with a good kicker but there is a possible straight/flush draw there i usually bet about 1/2, 3/4's of the pot to try and protect my top pair and stop people trying to draw their straight or flush, if i still have top pair after the turn i do the same, the way i see it is that if i had a straight draw i wouldn't call 3/4s of the pot to see if i can catch it, odds
must say that your not a favourite if the raiser actually has something (thats an educated guess!) but lately i keep getting beaten by people hitting their straight/flush on the river, after having nothing but a draw at the flop and the turn, even when i've been betting big all the way through the hand!
I don't think its a good idea to put the majority of my chips in when i've got nothing but a flush/straight draw, but a lot of the people i'm playing against seem to think it is and they keep getting paid off by their gamble!
Am i a bad player or are they and how do you beat people like this! I was thinking that if i move up in the stakes the players will get better and less of them would do this kind of thing?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you
