Gambling addiction

I wonder what are your experiences with this issue. The dark side of this beautiful game. Taking money from people who have no control over themselves when they play. Easy money ? People who can afford to lose and those who are drowning in debt and borrowing more to play?
My personal opinion is that at the table I have no mercy. I will take everything you have and more. Off the table I will tell you to get help because you have a problem.

My heart is dead, people who know exactly what they shouldn't do and what it leads to are in my special folder called '' pain seekers'' or. '' lets see how much it will hurt this time'' ( I am one of them)

Pat myself on the back salary day when pay my utilities first before gambling
many times did not do this first and regretted it later.

Live and learn pay bills buy food then who cares after that.
Make an arrangement with your creditors if in debt chasing losses digs a deeper hole.
Had my internet cut off in the past during a $109 tournament because had forgot to pay 2 months 2xe25 total E50 lol.:hahaha:

wanted to say that with your words you're trying to be someone there to destroy it, in order to cure ludomania. But you can't say this about all players, there are enough creative regulars against which neither I nor you nothing to do, skill is not enough.

Gambling addiction is an addiction that I equate to alcoholism, tobacco and drug addiction.

You must have some knowledge to play poker and study additionally! Unfortunelly poker can be used for gambling. Gambling has its rules too and with the right knowledge can be a nice entertainment. But if the person who plays poker, or gambles with something else does not have the knowledge to do these, then he can have unpleasant results.:help:

I think that if addicted people really want to get rid of their addiction, they will turn to specialists who can help them.

my issue is.... I am greedy lil player and I used online Virtual blackjack. It is tough to BJ for me! lol

Oh dude, i lost a lot of miney in hands like aa,kk,qq,ak . But yes, that it s a very big problem if you don t have control. One night for my entire salary becouse i lost my control in a tournament with an ace ace and after that i was a mess for a month . The control of emotions it's the key for that problem or a lot of money in your account.

I think most gambling addicts will stop playing poker after a while, and move on to something much more dangerous which is sports betting or casino games.
Think about it, in poker often i have to restrain myself, i can't play in any hand,
if you are a gambling addict, after a while frustrating if you don't play for 5 to 10 minutes, just throw your hands.I think a lot of them hobby players, and only a small part of them dangerous to itself gambling addict.

Gambling is a addiction that is as bad as any drug addiction and i have it bad cause i'll race with any two. Playing smart and tight is poker but any two is gambling and i win and lose alot at it.

This is a really difficult subject with no real answers. I personally have experience with a parent who lost all she had, including her house, due to gambling, thinking that the next big jackpot was just around the corner.

The obvious advice is to NEVER play for more than you are prepared to lose. This is the logical side of things, but when addictions are involved, there is not usually a lot of logic. So EVERYONE: PLEASE DON'T PLAY IF YOU CAN'T AFFORD TO LOSE.

As for how do we deal with our opponents who may have a gambling problem (i.e. addiction). This is a real ethical dilemma. In the real world, I would never intentionally harm anyone else, this goes against my ethical code. So how do I deal with harming someone at a poker table by taking their money? Unfortunately, I have to do a mind trick on myself and convince myself that everyone here is just competing, like any sport, and we all want to win, and to win, we must have a certain self serving attitude to play the best we possibly can. I have to assume that the other player can afford it, or they wouldn't be there. I realize being oblivious like this, is a "head in the sand" kind of thing, but if i don't find a way to deal with it, my conscience would probably not allow me to play.

I do not understand what could be problems with debts in poker. Play by bankroll management. You can not play on the tables with an entrance of 100,000 dollars, if you do not have the state of 100 million. Play according to your material abilities. If you play for big money, you must understand that you can lose them, be prudent, play within your means.

I look at poker as entertainment. If I lose a preset amount, fine, no big deal. I don't go to the movies, or really spend my extra money on anything. But it's always extra money, nothing that will affect bills or obligations. For the most part, lol.

If you keep touching the stove and getting burnt is it really everybody else's fault?? This is how I look at it.

I play poker for about 10 months. During this time I realized that I have very little experience. So I try to play freerolls, thus increasing my bankroll and improving my skills.

I sometimes break through the makings of addiction, but fortunately enough willpower to stop and pull myself together. But those who get into debt for the game, not particularly sorry. If you lose - then reconsider your game, something is clearly doing wrong.

I think, that you have to controll yourself, cause the easy money is the worst thing, if you can't handle it. So have to thinking out, before you do anything.
