I'm pretty sure you guys all know about this. Basically when full tilt had those full tilt pros, all of them had a contract where they get 30 or 35 dollars per hour and got 100% rakeback!

I remembered there were a few of them who would play many hours and do this at 10NL or 25NL. There were some players that did this at 5NL!

I mean imagine you were a full tilt pro and had this option. If it were me, i probably just play 4 table 25nl or 50nl. Or i could just play 10nl or 5nl and basically make 35/hr. Could you imagine how much money someone can make on this? You could basically play the nittiest poker imaginable and probably make 30/hr at the worst if you play like 5 or 10nl and 1 table!

And im pretty sure it didn't require you to play a certain limit or amoutn of tables. I would say a decent competent player could just relax and play 100nl and 4 table it could probably make 60/hr easily when you factor in the 100 percent rakeback with the 35/hr?.

Am my numbers right here?

I know i would have played 50 hrs a week every week as this is basically going to be 2k a week!

I thought I read somewhere that Erick Lindgren made $250k a month as a Full Tilt Pro?

"The most successful pros were also paid long money — as much as $10 million a year — to rock the logo of one online site or another"

I got that from an article on FTP. http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/7333093/uigea-you

That is true. But if players did it smartly they could grind away at the small tables and make a good chunk

seems like a good amount to us but to the pros that got sponsorship from FT or PS or whatever, it's not even enough for them to survive on.

Yeah..I think OP is forgetting something here.

For the avg donk and avg person like us for example; being paid that for playing 5nl/10nl or whatever would be great and of course we would sit there at 5nl nitting it up.

The difference is though; these guys are pros for a reason - meaning they can make much more money at higher stakes and probs wouldn't think like your're thinking about playing low limits to earn $45 per hour. They likely would see earning such amounts as nothing really and would be like me or you earning $1 an hour at 2nl, hardly anything to get excited about and not something they would want to aim for long term.

^ this.

Good chance the 100% rakeback at higher stakes would be earning them more than $35/hr anyway, even if they just played break-even poker (which, being pros, they're supposed to be able to do better than).

That said, I think there were definitely some "red pros" who weren't really all that good but knew someone that could get them red pro status and they did grind the low stakes for that guaranteed payday. Can't remember his name, but there was one who'd play almost nothing other than $2 90-person SnGs or something - even if he loses every single one, he'd still be taking about $34/hr home :p

Plus towards the end I believe it was confirmed there were a number of higher-stakes cash game regs who were basically able to "buy" red pro status to get themselves the rakeback.

Yes, however i think all of you are missing The 100% RakeBack. So if your playing higher stakes it isnt costing you for the opportunity to win. Giving you a huge advantage in bank roll management and allowing you to sit a bigger stakes tables without paying to sit there. Sounds like a pretty good deal in addition to the exposure and the opportunity to capitalize on the other endorsements that were mentioned.

Just the 100% rakeback is amazing, and they had more on top. To think that players like Andrew Feldman had this makes me a bit sick
