This - I suspect their contracts probably even require them to spend a certain amount of time at the low-limit tables.
Sometimes it seems to be exploited too though: logged on one night and there was a pro (can't remember which one now) registered in a satellite to a tournament that was starting a few hours later.
Thing was, said pro was already
registered for the main tournament - they had their seat and didn't need to be in the satellite. Loads of people were registering for the satellite, but about 30 seconds before it started the pro unregistered. Bit iffy, I think - it basically got extra people to register for the satellite because they thought they were going to get to play a pro, when the pro didn't seem to have any intention of actually playing the game.
