This was referring to a now deleted post or two... just in case anyone was wondering. Don't want to rub anyone the wrong way. (Well, except for those who deserve it.)Wow, some real intelligent folks on the loose today.
I agree. I always thought that this was where the larger poker sites get their freeroll money from. Other than that some private tourneys are either sponsored or use some of the money they get through rake when people sign up through their site on other poker sites.they rake players everyhand on cash tables mtts and sngs so whats it for them to make a 50$ freeroll
they rake players everyhand on cash tables mtts and sngs so whats it for them to make a 50$ freeroll lol its there cash and they know its more then likly not going to leave the site even if you take first place in the tourny .cause if you do win the freeroll you will go play a sng mtt or cash table game and give it right back to them lol
I wonder just how many real money players started out their career by playing in freerolls. Whilst learning the game i could be playing up to 4 or 5 freerolls simultaneously across different sites. It has to be said that if you want to try this make sure you have a dent spec PC like i did, the PC i have now could not cope with the strain. Eventually i progressed on to real money games and the rest is history. I have won a few freerolls in my time and cashed in a lot more but i know the sites have made that money back from me, tenfold by way of rake and tourney entry fees. It's a worthwhile exercise for them as there must be thousands of players who started out like this.
The host site is the primary sponsor of the freerolls, however there are instances where the forum owner(s) are putting up the stake. It's more of an incentive for site affiliates bringing in more New Players.
