I don`t play many freerolls
. Like Mr.Snake says, even when you do well it`s usually a poor use of time because the prizes are nothing much.
Sometimes I`ll play a free satellite, where the prize is a ticket into a big money tourney. My best in one of those was 4th from 2000 players. This got me through to the money game, where I went out on the bubble, so still spent hours for nothing.
I reckon you are better off playing a low buy-in MTT. There are plenty of them on various sites for $5 or less where the field will be only 100-200 players and there will be real prize money if you do well. I`ve had a lot of final tables in those, and I have no doubt at all that they are a better use of time than most freerolls.
