So I signed up on Crazy Vegas via the bluff ad info that was posted here, and got my free $15.

Now lately, my poker kung fu is weak, as I've not been playing for various reasons. So other than not play (which will just make things worse), I figured I'd throw it open to the floor for suggestions as to how best to proceed with the $15. Obviously the goal is to increase the bank balance. I'm having a hard time deciding what to do.

I've not played online with actual money before, so am a little nervous.

sit and go tourneys my friend.cannot remember at what buy in level they start at on crazy vegas but play the lower end and be patient.something like $2 or $3 normally have some bad players where you can make some money.play good hands strongly and muck the rubbish, as a lot of the players have the attention span of a goldfish and do not have the discipline to last more than 30mins!

Another option is limit games at say the .25/.50 level - which is where I spend most of my online time. Spent an hour on royal vegas last night and ran $10 into $25 just by careful play and patience. Some folks may suggest the micro-limit games but I find the quality of play there almost the same as freerolls...

I would play the .05/.10 no limit table and only bring a few bucks each time, then move up to the .10/.20 when you bring your bankroll to $25 or more. At this level you start to accumulate raked hands for the freerolls. I just turned my $15 into $75 by doing this and cashed out a few days ago.

I just don't want to crash and burn the money. I want to make it enough to cash out, then cash out.

I was thinking the sit and go route. Having never played one, what sort of finish do you need to get paid? I'm in no position to deposit my own money, so this could be my one chance. (I don't envision parlaying my 40 cents at poker.com into anything useful:))

It's kinda nervewracking, using real money. Even if it's not really mine.

Need to find more of these sites that give you free cash.

Thanks for the advice. Anyone else?

RoyalVegasPoker.com will also give you $10 free. Only catch with them is you have to play 150 raked hands at a level of .25/.50 or above to cash it out, but if you're smart that's not bad. Most people take that ten dollars right to the .25/.50 NL table and loose it. Start small and once you have enough you can free it up. :)

As for your $15, yes go with SNG's to beef it up. I personally prefer heads up as it's quicker and easier if you're a strong heads up player, but it's up to you. You'll need a top 3 finish in most SNG's to win any money, so if you're good enough at them it should be no problem. Patience and good timing are all you need.

Never done head to head, so I have no idea how good I'd be. In fact as I've never actually played for money, this is probably a whole new ballgame.

SNG is looking good though.

i actually would recommend the .25/.50 tables to build it up bcuz SNGs have a lot of bad beats

This isnt actually true. You can get raked hands at ANY table, even .05/.10 tables! If the rake taken on a hand is over .25 it still counts. I get my raked hands at the .10/.20 tables mostly.
