I am a bit confused, and have a dialog going with PS support. I'm close to clearing a bonus, and want the most bang for my buck.

So I got in a 36 seat sat to the Sunday 100K. $2+.20 (poor mans Sunday Million;)). 6 seats advance. In fact no one person wins these. I was massively ahead at the finish, but have nothing but a seat to show for it.:(;)

It paid 1 FPP. I won and am registered for the biggy which give 5 FPP. My question to PS support is, will I get those 5 FPP if I won the seat rather than a direct buy in. I'll post the reply tomorrow.

For what its worth, these sats in particular seem so soft. I think I have won 4 seats in 5 tries. I unregistered in one, getting tourney$. Which I used in a CC event which then paid my real bucks when I won!:D, That was a good week.

Wouldn't it just be the same?

I'd be surprised to hear any other answer...

By same, I'm assuming you think the won seat will pay me the 5 FPP, just as if I bought my way in. I hope this is the case, as it would help explain why they underpay in the sat. PS policy says one FPP for each $1 in fees, then confuses that issue. There was a prize pool of $72 bucks, so a case could be made that the sat should have paid 7 FPP's.

A bigger thing tho is when clearing bonuses this format may be one of the better ways to do it. I shy away from ring play, and this could be the fastest way to accumulate FPP's for the least cost via SnG's.

ok, from the PS site, it says you get 5FPPs per $1 in tournament entry fee.

That means for your $2+0.20 tournament, you'll earn 1 fpp since you're paying 20c in entry fee (5*1/5 = 1).

Now for the $10+1, 100k guaranteed, you'll earn 5 fpps since you're paying $1 in entry fee (5FPPs per $1 in fee).

The issue in question is whether or not you earn the same # of FPPs if you play the $10+1 with a ticket (or $T) as you would earn buying directly in, no?

If so, it should be exactly the same # of FPPs: 5.

well think of it this way
if u take the T$ and play a normal 10+1 tourny with it they will give u 5 FPP
so i see no reason why they will not give 5 FPP here

The prize pool is $72. Each seat is worth $11. Tournament info says remainder is distributed in $6 incriments. Who gets the extra $6? First?

You all are saying what I hope is the case. In which case:confused:, I will have effectively got 6 FPP, for my initial $2 entry fee;). Clearly a better deal.

I think!:joyman:

Damn good question. This never plays to the actual winner, they just stop when the 6 seats are won.
I just looked and 7th place, the bubble as it were, gets the $6.00

I certainly know from the few times ive gotten cheap seats to the Sunday Million they award the correct amount of FPPs, ie 45 even when ive gotten in on a $3rebuy.

As for payout structures, if you look carefully youll see that the full prizepools are given out. Yes they do incremental prizes for bubble but if you look carefully, sometimes they will also award the balance to other players. I got $3 before for missing a million seat by a few places.

Here is what I got in reply after providing specific tourney #'s.

Hello Dennis,

Thank you for writing to us.

Five points are awarded for each $1 in a tournament fee. When you win
entry into an event through a satellite you do not pay any tournament fee.
As such, you are not awarded any FPP's.

If there is anything further that we can help you with please let us know.

Regards,

Joseph

My guess here is that if I unregister, and then reregister, I would be using T$, and T$ won't get any FPP's either.

Luckily, I'm only maybe 12-15 FPP's from the bonus clearing, and it should be no problem.

This is a disappointment and NOT the way I wanted to start the day.:(

Well, since the prize you won was worth $11, and that goes to $10+$1, then you should get the points for the $1 part that is fee. I think you have a class action basis here.

You, I, and most everyone else in a logical world would agree, however, apparently PS has a different take on things.:(

Well, apparently PS support doesn't have a clue.

Thru several back and forth emails, they suggested I would not get credit for the 5 FPP's I won via a satellite where I won 1 FPP and the seat into the $100K, where I also finished ITM.

But I did get credit for it.

SO, this may be a better way to amass FPP, toward bonus clearing.

FWIW, I know back in December when I had won a wbcoop tournament and received a Sunday platinum package (4 215 buy ins, and a 530 buy in), I received FPPs each time I used a ticket to play in the big tournaments.
