I'm looking for some input on my game. I don't see the need to post hand histories for the entire games, as I usually place in the money so I know I'm doing alright.

I also figured that some people out there might be interested in following my progress. I started a blog(in sig) from the start of my venture.

I started with $48.40. Currently at $65.20.

Looking forward to hear from you guys!

I despise turbos, more about catching cards then employing any strategy or skill.

I highly disagree. If that were the case I wouldn't place in 9/10 I play.

I agree with Chainfire98 about turbos. When I first started playing online, I played turbos because they were quick and convenient, and I wasn't that serious about spending my time playing poker. I lost my entire first deposit playing turbos. Then, I started playing regular SNGs and my ROI went way up. After the first few rounds, turbos are basically a crapshoot, so if you are a patient player, you'll do much better to avoid them.

Hey, I really like this idea. Good luck with everything.

Also, as for turbos just about catching cards...not exactly. Turbos and normal SNGs are the same game, but with different strategies. You just have to adjust your game a bit/change gears sooner than usual when you play turbos. Paying attention to playing styles, stack sizes, and when blinds (and how they affect everyones stack) are just as, if not more, important as a normal SNG since these are a big factor in your decisions. So turbos in a nutshell, and from my experience, is nothing more than just constantly adjusting. Also, play is usually so weak and loose that they're a cinch to beat sometimes.

A string of good hands does help, though.

No, while playing turbo SnG's may decrease your edge somewhat, the speed increase more than makes up for it from an hourly standpoint. Just because the blinds go up faster doesnt mean there's any less skill or strategy involved, just more variance. Just about every serious SnG grinder plays almost exclusively turbos.

I highly disagree. If that were the case I wouldn't place in 9/10 I play.

No, you don't. This would make you far and away the greatest SnG player in the world. No offense, but you're not.

Actually it depends on sample size. Maybe OP has played in 10 and cashed in 9; or even played in 20 and cashed in 18. Either way, they may not cash in their next 5-10 (not trying to Jinx OP, just a statement).

4.5/10 is insanely good. 9/10 is impossible.
Yeah, I can agree with this.

BTW, SNGTurbo, I'd love to see a full replay of how you play your SNGs instead of just the last hand. If possible...

4.5 cashes out of 10 seems kinda low, I'd quit playing them if I donk'd out every other game (5/10). Not saying I hit 9 out of 10 but def. more than 4.5 out of 10. Played 5 today, cashed in 4 of them which is about average.

Turbo vs normal, it's all about concentration and making the right plays either way with only a few seconds of difference in timing. Turbo's don't give you extra time to ponder your next move so if you don't know it by the time your turn comes you're probably not in a game you should be playing anyway.

Your average winning SnG player has a 40%-42%ITM rate. 45%ITM is really really good.

Totally agreed. Also a ITM rate of 90% not even the best pro in the world on the hottest streak could or would hit that.
