flattery or insult?

So when I started in poker I started with cash and my game was awful, I did not touch cash once I began to learn to play tournaments and sit and goes properly for plus ev but I feel my game has improved a lot since this time and do wonder where I can be now.

I decided as an experiment to play cash recently at 25/50c at an antee table on stars. I thought this the best option because I feel my best game in tournaments and sit and goes is when the antees come in. I played my usual loose aggressive way and either luck or skill i was tearing up the table. only played about an hour. my brother plays cash for a living and does not do anything else.

I noticed that one player i was sitting behind sat and moved so he was no longer sitting behind me.

two ways to interpret this
1. He was scared of me and did not want me sitting behind him
2. he thought i was a bad player and wanted to be behind me.

my brother says im awful but thats only because of my previous cash record when i was bad. the guy did not move to behind me but to near opposite position to me. Where he moved to he would only have position on me if i came in from early position or under the gun and id have position on him from the same.

is this flattery he thinks im good and wants to avoid me having position or insult he sees me as a fish?

Its unlikely he moved because he feared you.

He would most likely find another table rather than switch seats.

Maybe he saw you as a fish or maybe he saw the guy he was getting direct position on to be a fish and it had nothing to do with you.

did he sit down with less money........might be just taking money off the table.....don't mean to slag you cause i'm not but an hour don't mean much,better to play more time before deciding if you have improved your cash play.....

So wait, were you originally sitting to his right or left? If you were sitting to his left, most people don't usually want a LAG sitting directly on their left and would prefer to have a LAG sitting on their right.

Also, was this 6-max or FR and how many seats were filled? If it was only you and the other guy, it's usually courteous to not sit directly to the right/left of a player when other seats are open. Online people don't really care about this and will maximize any advantage, but he may have been a poker traditionalist.

It's also possible that the seat move was not in relationship to you at all, but in relation to a different player at the table.

Or maybe he just didn't like your digital smell.

I'm willing to bet that's what it was, at least that's exactly what it was if he was a good player.

I thought you had to buy-in for the amount you left with if you re-buying withing like ~1 hour of standing up.

really in this situation who knows?

If you are raising a lot of hands he probably wants to be on your left. He can re raise you and have control after the hand after. You compare the ante cash games to tourneys when antis kick in. The big difference is tourneys with antes, you will be around 40BB's. These cash games players are sitting with 250BB's. You might be a little to aggressive for this type of game and the reg thought he could exploit that.

In this situation if i was the other guy and moved it would be because I wanted to be across the table to be in less pots with you ie. b vs. b but could still get in a good pot with you when He had the cards , and perhaps it gave him better position on you than where he was...Im certain if he feared you or was annoyed he would of just left.
