First Time Live Player... Tips/Suggestions?
I played my first hand of 5 card draw when I was 8 years old. I've been an avid online player since 2006. I took a two year break after Black Friday, but in the recent months I've become active again, and have been pretty successful. I have made it my goal to try and play some live events in 2013-14 in the Heartland Poker Tour. They have one main event for every stop, and the final table is televised. However, I've never played live before, not to mention anything "big" or televised. So, my question to you all is: what are some of the things I should know or be prepared for when playing a live event for the first time? I know my way around a poker table, but I also know that there are many elements of the game on and off the table that do not exist with online poker, and I would be completely oblivious to those things until I pop my live poker cherry. So anything you have to say, or any ideas you might have just shout them out and I will absorb everything. I appreciate any feedback I get from you guys/gals.
