Not really. With a hand that can draw to a royal flush, you're generally raising it pretty high, so only a good hand will call you (generally), the kind of hand that would be helped by the board that a royal flush can give. Secondly you're gonna be raising it pretty high with a really scary board, so only a great hand is gonna call (generally).
Secondly, you can play way more hands online than in RL. You are also talking to a much larger group online (do you have 10k people who you talk about poker with?), so you're going to hear about more crazy stories.
Thirdly, you're not necessarily going to rush out and tell everyone about the time your royal flush beat two pair, right?
Finally, I don't think it's in the casinos
best interest to purposely give away bad beat jackpots. But I could be wrong. And even if it is, casinos giving away money isn't much of a conspiracy.
