I would if I had friends that were actually interested in poker. I'm like the only one.

Maybe someone could record it and post it here on CC for all of us. ;)

Actually, I did think about it, but I plan on Tivoing all of the main event, so I'm not going to bother watching the final table first. So far I've been able to dodge almost all info relating to the main event. I like surprises.

Although, one other thought that crossed my mind was to buy the live event and tivo it. Then at the end of all of the main event coverage, I'd watch the live final table instead of the espn taped one.

That's a good point, nate. Guess I better find that out before I go buying the damn thing.

Thank you for saving me the $25 or whatever it was going to cost.

No hole cards = no PPV for me.

I would have bought it even if there had been a delay, this news kills it for me.

the only kind of nice thing about it is you would get to see every hand, not just the ones they pick to make good TV. the bad thing about it is you would get to see every hand, and especially considering u probably won't recognize any of the players, it might get a little boring. I don't necessarily mind not seeing the hole cards, i like watching some of those old events on ESPN Classic, but i think i'll skip it and endure the cheesy comentary when it airs on ESPN.

See I'm one that likes to see the hole cards. If I wanted to watch every hand of a poker game without seeing hole cards, I would just go play.

IMO, the reason for me to watch is because I can see the hole cards. I've watched some of the pre-hole card cam games, and I personally find them rather boring. After all, you can only try playing along for so long.

To add to what Jack Daniels said:

Another benefit of being able to see the hole cards is that you can get into a player's head so much more and see the mechanics of the hand, because you know what they are holding. When the hole cam is not available, the only time you may be able to learn a little about how they tick is if a hand comes to showdown, or they happen to show their cards. But generally, I would imagine at the final table in the wsop, the play is at a level where many pots are won before showdown, resulting in a LOT of mucked hands.

ESPN charge people $25 each to watch it, but don't pay the players a cent. How do they get away with that?

The pros aren't outraged because they're in it for the title and bracelet and the amatuers are there to get lucky and hopefully get money/bracelet. Otherwise they'd start a union or ban the event if they felt the royalties were greatly unjust which would probably amount to nothing because 8k people aren't going to sit out of the WS Main Event just to protest telecast money. It's probably in the rules when they sign up . . . if they didn't like what they were getting in winnings, then they probably shouldn't have signed up, and instead, protested it. It's all worked out between Harrah's and ESPN/Disney, IMO, sure you could want more, but it is a fair deal. What we should question is the amount of taxes U.S. players get killed with.

I won't watch it.. why bother when it will be televised again later on Espn Classic, or even my Espn 360 I have downloaded on my computer.
