Definitely NOT fifty fifty tournaments at micros levels.

As tenbob says, need a bit more information really on your BR.

Ram I found the Fifty Fifty tournaments at the lowest level only very very beatable. The $3 games were a massive jump and the $7 games were a struggle to even break even.

Play whichever you enjoy more at a level you're bankrolled for. Without knowing a lot more about your game and also your mental / emotional approach to poker, it's difficult to say which would be more profitable **for you**. And it's also quite possible that if there is a difference, it will be small enough not to be a big factor in your choice.

I assume the fifty-fifty's are the same as double-up SnGs on Cake...where there is a $2+$0.20 buy-in and the top 5 out of 10 finishers win $4.
Playing these games, you can use winning percentage as an accurate stat, since there are only two options/prizes (win, $1.80 profit; loss, $2 loss of profit). In this scenario, you need a 55% winning percentage in order to break even. Anything below 55% (even if the winning percentage is above 50 percent) you're still taking a loss.
As for regular SnGs, where the prizes aren't even for everyone who is ITM (more prize money for 1st, less for lower finishers), the profitability comes down to not only how many times you finish ITM, but how many you win, and how many youare finishing last out of everyone ITM (and thus recieving the smallest prize).
If you find yourself winning a lot of SnGs, then regular SnGs might be for you. If you struggle to win them but always feel like you are right around the top half, then double up SnGs (or fifty-fifty's, as most people here apparantly call them) are for you. Remember, you need a 55% winning percentage to be profitable if there is a 10% house cut on the buyin!

i think that on Stars its better fifty fifty because there is always few players that play too agressive because its payed 0.04$ for 100chips and they drop rlly fast... So play fifty fifty, and play it smart :)

i say stay away from 50/50s unless you are really low BR ... it's like if you have a good game ... you want a bigger reward ... i played these for awhile thinking if i just play real solid, i should always be in the money, but i quickly found that it really doesn't go down like that ... you pretty much have to approach it like any SnG and if that is the case, then why not have a few bigger payouts up for grabs

maybe, if you are really low on BR and/or stuggle mightily at HU ... then fifty/fifty might be better
