this may be more or less paranoic but i think is a real danger to get robbed or somobody to break your door just because they think u have some poker money.some drunk guys scare the shit out of me when i heard them speaking about doing that.didnt happened i guess was just a joke and i hope to remain that way.anyway in a poor country like mine others got killed for
so now somehow i am afraid to get some real money because of that
what about other countries poker players are in the mob radar?phil ivey or someone else doesnt fear it me be shoot by some casino who dont want to pay him?
i have seen to many movies?maybe.i hope is only like this

yup, it happens

http://www.cardplayer.com/poker-news/12529-poker-pro-jonathan-duhamel-attacked-in-home

I've known players getting robbed outside the casino, and in their hotel rooms at poker tournaments. always best to keep your money and your self safe.

hopefully more and more places will realise that they cannot expect ur to carry wedges of notes around and allow more electronic facilities.

Ive been to some major events in the last few years that didnt even have credit card facilities.

Buy a gun... If your truly afraid of some one thinking you have poker money when your at the tables just talk as if you are poor if you win big make sure people think its a rare occasion and say stuff like "time to go blow it all at the slots" or make it seem like its your food money and your going straight to the grocery store. Never flash your money thats kind of asking for it.. Don't brag about crushing the game for twenty + years and winning 11 bracelets (now 13) TBH I don't know how Phil hellmuth hasn't been robbed.. Also watch the Doyle Brunson interview about all the times he was robbed at gun point with a shotgun in his face... be happy its not like that anymore

OP also fears the successive s!

OP is also from Romania and English is probably not the main language that he speaks.

To help lessen the chances of getting robbed always pay attention to your surroundings. I wouldnt go walking down any dark alley ways or walk alone late at night after leaving a casino, or anytime actually xD

Lol at this. There are plenty of people out there, if given the chance, who will put a gun to your face or knife and demand all your money. Even if it is only $5... Some people just do not care.

Like I said in my post best thing you can do is pay attention to everything going on around you and don't put your self in unsafe circumstances.

If some one puts a gun to your face just give them the money file a theft report and rebuild its all you can do really there is no reason to lose or take a live for 1$-$5's anything above that though and you better fight to the death (JK) Try to relax and not to think about it but if Howard Leaderer walks towards you beat the crap out of him chances are he's coming to steal your money its just what he does.

Thank you for pointing this out. When I read his location I assumed he meant Romania, Iowa. Stupid me!

I also live in a violent country, but I think you can't be paranoid about that otherwise you don't live. Yes, it can happen that you get robbed, but you can't live thinking about that.

Don't wear your best clothes, expensive sunglasses, expensive wireless headphones, ect to the poker table. The more you look like you spend any extra money on gambling, the less likely people will think it will be worth it to rob you. If you do pull off a big win, say something like "guess I can make a car payment this month".

Hi!
Any money play inseparably linked with risk. At the risk of people are afraid of! Fear - an integral part of gambling!
If you experience intense fear for my life, my advice - give up on live poker games! Good of online industry is highly developed

I think if you're a poker shark, it is better to hire a couple of bodyguards, and after a big win to take to the bank for deposit))

Yea the second you get some money stock up on gats bro.. Don't be like I have millions of dollars to everyone because to them they might not have anything. When you don't have anything you lose it and do whatever you need to do. Just protect yourself and get a visa and leave.

You have to have homies! It doesn't matter what you call them, crew, click, posse. It's good to have friends. One hard and fast rule that my friends and I always had is that you don't go anywhere to gamble alone. I'm actually sitting here thinking and I'm trying to remember when I've seen anybody, from the "most gambling" all the way to the "most gangsta" dudes rolling alone. The only one I can think of is "Johnny Stop". But he doesn't count because he's a complete idiot.

Whether it's on the pool tables or at the card tables, I cross paths with a lot of shady individuals. I don't always trust them not to be, or have someone, waiting in the parking lot for me after I've just won a nice piece of change off of them. I don't know if S3mper was joking about the gun or not, but I don't go anywhere without one. I'm so used to carrying one that I sometimes forget that I have one on me.

Lol put your energy in other things, fear is something you shouldn't have for nothing, but seems this is more of an American issue than worldwide.
Fear is a bad counsellor
This means at and from the table for a lot of people I guess!
