I play poker with my friends every week, but still not desputei any tournament. I intend to play a live tournament to see if they have the same performance when playing online!

I prefer to play live - but only in big tournaments. Of course being in the US my online options are not great anyway.

I prefer live tournaments a lot more, i seem to actually run good and have a good record. Unlike online where it feels like i win 1/10 races.

Looooooooooooove live games. My local poker hall typically has $40 buy ins with about 40 people or so playing. A lot of familiar faces gives this place a family home game experience. If I could, I'd go there daily.

I don't have much of an opportunity to play live. No games around much. We play at Knights of Columbus meetings maybe once a month. I do like the live tourneys, though. I mostly have to play online.

Online for sure. I like playing live okay as the other players are really, really terrible, but I basically only have sngs or limit to play live unless I'm in Vegas. I prefer to mass table low stakes online.

Ill take live poker over online every day and twice on sunday. I play on bovada and there software sucks royally. More bad beats than a pimp when his women aren't producing. I know your comment is why do I play then .. well if I was using my own money I wouldn't .. but I like the sportsbook.

I love playing live poker. Definitely a different feel than playing online. I have to look into live local games, and see if they are legit and I can play.

The only live poker close to me is free-to-enter in local pubs. It's free but the subtle (?) pressure is on to spend money on drinks. You get extra chips when you buy at least 3 drinks which will cost at least £10. And the structure is fairly turbo so if you don't get chips early then it gets harder as you go and you just have to shove with marginal hands. You win free drinks at the bar (on top of the ones you've already been coerced into buying). I went once, didn't play that well, didn't enloy the people (they had no intention of trying to welcome me into the fold anyway), so didn't go back ;-)

Went to the empire in leicester square once with friends. I wouldn't have gone because I'm not good enough or rich enough to pay £30 to enter a torunament. My girlfriend spotted me as she wanted to go along. Came 10th out of 40. There were quite a few regulars there so felt fairly pleased with myself. Went out AJo against 8's. Would have reached the final table if i'd won that flip.

I like to play in my underwear.
which makes live play rather rowdy in my neck of the woods. I too prefer a more casual setting...why i cant video skype ..in PJs 9 out of ten times while on comp. ive had a few casinos tell me when i say "i prefer to play in pajamas" to bring it on. lol

I live in a Canadian province where there's only two casinos in the entire province. I actually prefer online. I can find the games and the stake levels I want, and I can play at the times I want. If it's the weekend, I might not necessarily want to spend it in a dark casino poker room next to guys who obviously have an aversion to bathing....ugh

Have to say I quite enjoy the live play myself, and in the past faired much better live than online, granted more downs than ups. But as mentioned in my hello post a few weeks back I am in the process of trying to reinvent myself with poker and play a more focused and patient game, taking a multi tabling sng approach at the micro levels is helping with this however still find myself a little tilting in bad runs when play 8 or 10 sng's and wind up not cashing any.
I simply love the feel of the chips to play with and especially when playing with regular people you kinda be comfortable like a family, so i guess the social aspect of playing in a pub with regulars is something I enjoy.
Both live and online have their benefits and drawbacks depending on the reason to be playing poker, grind for profit probably good to adapt a multi table approach online (if can do so profitably) unless you got a br to play big limits in a live cash game. Live is a great social outing when with a group of regulars, both are very different yet very much the same experience (each to be played for profit of course is the key to any type of gamble).
Just my thoughts, oh how I miss a live game (been about four months or more since having held a poker chip, haha withdrawel).

I haven't played live yet but I can't wait to try, there are a couple of Indian casinos real close to me but the cigarette smoke is ridiculous so I've been reluctant to go. There aren't any card rooms here so I would have to go out of town to play in one. I'm trying to get at least the basics down before I play live so I don't spew chips like a complete idiot.

Love to play live poker, go out on a Casino Cruise several times a month, only way to legally do it here. US isn't poker friendly everywhere. Play on Monday nights locally for points. Good practice.

I'm about half and half. I like to play live, but at the same time I like to play online too. If I had to choose, live would be my preference though. Something about the extra added abilities, like the ability to actually read your opponent better swings it for me.

I like to play live due to the fact that you can see your opponents. Also there is no wait to cash out. However online is convenient since you don't have to go anywhere and you can play multiple tables.

live poker is so much better for me, win way more live rather than online. Feel online their is so many more idiots of course cause you're at so many different tables. Go to the casino buy in and feel like I just rake up on fish. (cash games) so I would definitely have to say cash games at the casino rather than playing cash games online. But I do enjoy playing tournaments online. Personaally I feel you can learn a lot online at the tournament scene. So all in all they both have their benefits I believe.
