You were right lol. I played my first session of .02/.05 6-max today, and did fairly well, and it's actually not boring at all when you multi table. I was playing on 5 tables, and made a little over 12 dollars in about 400 hands. I know thats probably an upswing, but I will definately be hitting the cash games a little harder from now on

You love it now, wait until you get your first downswing. You won't feel the same way ;)

lol @ downswings you people actually get them???

seriously, nice job cash games seem to hit you with a downswing harder and faster than sngs but either way downswings suck!

Well ask Curtis, all of last week was a downswing last week lol, down to $70 at one point I believe. Kept my head up and solid play prevailed lol, but I have always handled downswings pretty well

Cash games are great! I am finding that I enjoy them more than SnG's and MTT's. HOWEVER, the tournaments have the nice feature of bankroll mgmt built into them since you can only lose your buy-in. With cash games I can go through 2 or 3 buy-in's just to double my original buy-in. And when you hit a string of 2nd best hands and missed draws those 3 buy-in's can disappear in a hurry with no recovery.
The best advice I have read for cash game money mgmt was from an article Kristy Gazes wrote for full tilt poker. She said something along the lines of, "Don't be afraid to step down in limits when you hit a cold streak." Her basic idea was that when the cards are running against you, it is best to play at lower limits in order to preserve your bankroll. Smaller pots means smaller losses. And lower limits hopefully means weaker opponents. With this you may be able to recover some of your losses and re-build your confidence, then you'll be ready to step back up to you normal limits, and perhaps higher.
GL2U!

Cash is great. I was down earlier this weak 600 dollars.

But no I am up 100 dollar ..

After a massive downswing I always get a more massive upswing, standard..
