So last night I got very, very drunk with some friends (it was one of
the guys birthday) and when I came home at 1:30 am I stupidly decided
to log into partypoker and donk away $3500 (which is over half of my
bankroll).

Needless to say I am PISSED. I did a google search for "drunk poker"
to try and find stories of others in the same situation (so I wouldn't
feel so bad), but the only think I could find is
drunkpoker.net where some guy brags about how much money he
makes getting drunk and playing poker night after night.
Surely there are others out there who have gotten drunk and logged into
an online poker room only to wake up the next morning and realize you
blew a way a pile of money. Come on people, share some stories...

Well, I have played drunk before and it never goes well, but my god $3500? Jeeze Louise that must have been worse than the hangover you had.
What limits were you playing at and what kind of calls were you making? (not good ones obviously) I'm sorry for you bud, I hope you never make that mistake again!

I won a $300 payout on a $30 20-man SNG while I was drunk. I lose when I play sober, though.

I normally play 2/4 NL... sometimes 3/6 NL.

When I was drunk I sat down at 10/20... I only played for 25 minutes too

huh, so that was your $3,500.....

(And for the record I usually lose to the drunk guy, b/c they don't fold when they're supposed to.)

What were you thinking playing poker drunk?! Why don't you drive home while you're drunk too?! Both very dangerous situations!

I will have one drink once in a while while playing, it is normally a bad bad idea to drink and play

If I have 2 or 3 beers it actualy makes me a better player. Anything past that though and its turns into a game of luck, not skill.

If I'm playing poker past 9 PM EST there is a 75% chance I'm tanked. I'm another one of those idiots.:)

If I'm playing live, I love to have two double whiskeys before I sit down, I'll even spill some on my shirt on purpose, But two whiskeys doesn't effect me much. I played live one night at the casino in Port Perry after I had been on a medieval Style japanese rampage( I think we had something like six bottles of saki) I ended up winning 1600 in an Hour and a Half. Then I get up and go the the three card poker table and lost it all in about 15 minutes. I vaguely remember being escorted out by security and yelling something very derogatory at the vety large native security. Needless to say my friends keep me clear of any form of gambling when I hit the bottle. Bastards they are.

But i love to play when I'm extremely stoned. There is nothing more enjoyable then believing you can beat a pair of Aces with a pair of twos.

Two days ago a strange thing happened to me while drunk in charge of a computer.
I was playing $2/$4 NL at party poker and became bored with the lack of any real action or like minded drunks who just wanted to chat.

In a haze of alcohol fumes i decided to embark on more lively action to suit my mood.
The last thing i can recall before slumping over my keyboard was joining an all action $10/$20 NL game.
The rest was a complete blur, but the following morning, with my mouth tasting like a desert rats behind i decided to check my party poker account to see how much damage i had done the previous night.

And would you believe it, to my utter amazement on checking my account i found that i had won $3500.
I mean, how cool was that.

zinzan1000 beware the heady cocktail of alcohol & poker

My friends and I play live a couple times a month ($20 buy in for chips, $2 limit per bet/raise) and usually everyone is drunk by the time 12:00 rolls around. By 1:00 it gets quite interesting when last round for dealing is called! Since we have started I don't think I have walked out with less than $40. Last weekend we were at a different guiys house so I wasn't drinking because I had to drive. I was WAY up ($80) and I lost almost $40 of that in the last 1/2 hour while stone sober! It sucks getting dealt really good cards when someone else is getting GREAT cards. That went on for 4 hands straight. I still came out with just over $40, so it wasn't too bad, but definitely unneccesary when all I had to do was fold to walk out with $80. But then who folds AA, KK, AK suited and AK off suit??? Brutal. That's why it's called "gambling" and not called "sure thing".
