I don't know if anyone else does this but I enjoy watching the $1/$2 NL games on FTP, some things I see I just can't help but get a kick out of because you would think these types of plays stay at the microstakes? lol.

Can anyone explain this play? Its either a stupid donkey play or I'm not understanding something lol.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, I guess this explains why this room had a 12+ waiting list.

Weird KK play?

Yup, no one ever said donks had to be poor and only play the micros. Depending on how the play was before, I could understand the raise, trying to resteal, but calling the all-in was dumb. Explains why his bb/100 is -17.6

I'm certain there is a pattern that some players know.

It was a total donkey play.

AcKh (68.27%) vs Ah2h (26.92%)

A pattern such as "online poker is rigged" or what are you talking about.

Agreed. I would say this is more of a normal occurance than weird. And you can always tell the people who it is. Usually that 70/55 who has been on a completely up and down session but no one can seem to get him out. Those situations... Just sit back, relax and wait for your good hands, although even that doesn't work...case in point.

Stupid donkey play imo. Maybe he was running good and hoped to get lucky but solid players won't be making moves like this.

He might have been thinking since the CO raised he was stealing the blinds and the BB just pushed to get him off the hand, and he was on a suited ace he had the best hand.

Or the donk thing...

We all know that if you have an ace in your hand that you have the highest card and therefore the best hand and nobody can ever beat you.

I can't see how he paid this, even if the guy was pushing he out of the hand, he couldn't think that he was better than the other one
for me it was a donkey play

I'm sure we can all assume the thought process on this hand.

Obviously, it could just be that he is a complete donk.
Actually, that's most likely the case.

But, if one was to be the lawyer in his case, they would say that he attempted a re-steal and maybe he saw something in the others guys HUD that showed that he had a fairly high percentage re-raising a raiser.

Therefore, he attempts to make this brilliant call with statistics to back him up, finds himself emotionally do a 180 degree turn, (not 360 because then that would make him happy again) and falls ass backwards into a winning hand.

That call is just so bad. What hand are you beating? You aren't beating enough hands and you could be dominated. Which he was

Mostly he's a donk - but, sometimes there is more sophistication in situations like the hand than what meets the eye.

You don't know if there's a history between the two players.

Sometimes a player would do that to set up implied tilt odds - which is a strategy I often use myself. Set up the donk image and tilt the table, then tighten down and stack them when they decide to go up against you in a marginal situation.

I wouldn't go for that set-up play 100bb deep, though.

This strategy works much better in live games, though. Online, too many people can see your stats and figure out what's going on (if they're serious players).

Best case scenario was that he thought he might have one live card. I don't see calling that at all.

I got this one free $10 bankroll on a site called pokertime... it's shit, but there was this one guy who actually bankrupted me, i played him on one table heads up and another 6 handed table and on both tables he called huge bets and/or raises from me preflop when i was holding AK and he had K2. He hits 2 pair on both tables simultaneously and destroys me.

I don't play at pokertime any more. I don't think it's rigged I just think it's funny as hell that the same hand got me both times. Shit happens.

I agree that it was a terrible call, but does anybody else think that a 4-bet with AK is also a little suspect? I know that there could be a history between these 2 and maybe he thought the shove would cause a fold, but I just don't think I would ever shove all-in in that spot with AK.
