This is coming way too late, as the ESPN wsop qualifiers end this Sunday, but I found a way to greatly improve the speed and connectivity of the tables on this s**tbox site. Once you have entered your event of choice and are seated at your table, reopen the lobby and click on "Final Tournament". This screen is currently empty and inactive, as the final field for the WSOP prize seat has not been set. I did this upon someone's suggestion and all the game glitches I'd been suffering through for the last two months at ESPN vanished. I can only assume that if your lobby screen isn't constantly refreshing table updates of games in progress, your own game play zips right along. Try it.

hey Rammer. Yes, ESPN's site sucks. But, yes it appears that your posted suggestion does seem to help.

One thing is for sure....once this WSOP stuff is over this weekend, I can't imagine I will play there unless the future promos they are talking about get really worth while.

Plus the quality of play there is the worst I've ever seen. Especially all of the All-in morons that learned to play only by watching TV and not actually bothering to develop any skill. But this is just me ranting.

Yeah, it's hideous, Jack. I even found my own game deteriorating a bit by immersing myself in the ESPN cesspool to try and get a shot at the seat. The closer it gets to the final tourney, the worse the quality of play becomes as people get desperate and just start throwing chips at the table. I've already removed the ESPN Game Client from my computer. Done.

Their next "big" promotion is slated to begin on May 23rd. They're going to qualify people through early June for one of 400 seats at a final tournament. Four "winners" will get all-expense-paid trips to Vegas for Phil Helmuth's poker camp. I would only go if I knew I would be able to get close to Phil with a very sharp object.

I plan to pull the game client off after this weekend. I am in the last chance tourney tonight at 8:00 PM Central time. If I place top three (right now) I get a last chance entry into the final tourney tomorrow.

Once I'm done with that, the game client goes bye bye.

Also, I too noticed my play deteriorating. Not happy about it so I tested myself. I've played some reals games now on other sites and have found that my standard style of play is still there, but I am still playing the same at ESPN. I wonder if that means my ability to shift gears and adjust to the level of the competition is working. Hmmm. That would put me one step closer to pro. Works for me. :)

But either way, I'm done with that site.

Cheers
