A Good Resource

Cardschat is a sponsor of the Top Pair podcast, which is devoted to the home game. On their site (Toppair.net) you can find links to all kinds of poker equipment, from cards to chips to furniture.

Cheers!

cards never seemed to matter. Just have several decks and a good shuffler.

Depends how serious you want to be. But for my money you pretty much have to have 100% plastic cards. Paper cards don't shuffle well and they mark/bend very easily, whereas a good plastic deck will last for ages.

You can get a couple of decks of Copags, Kems or other good brands on eBay relatively cheap.

We had a traveling group where each member hosted one week and then we moved to next member. For my games I went to a game shop and bought a nice set of clay chips. (Four colors). I used regular Bicycle brand cards. We used two decks in different colors. Next dealer would shuffle his cards during hand and then have a shuffled deck ready when deal started. Don't use the same deck twice. Two new decks every time you host

I bought a few partypoker sets from Argos... I've got lots and lots of chips now... They were on offer when I bought them a couple of years ago... 40% of marked price... got a nice case to keep them all in included too... May be worth checking out every once in a while to see if a similar offer comes up again

...unless you spend just a bit more on good 100% plastic cards.

Really people, it's not that hard :p

When I play with friends in the past, we just buy normal cards and chips to play in a normal store.

Now I don't play anymore but I know that they already buy cards and chips in the Pokestars Store and that is pro stuff but for what?

You will win or lose no matter the quality of the cards and of the chips.

you have to take into account the amount of juadores who will participate, for the colors of the tiles as well as the values, and the money to be invested, also do not forget the button, and mark the blinds in the case it is a tournament. poker and enjoy !!

I use the Black Spider bicycle cards with a compact leather case for 500 chips. The chips are very solid and heavy with currency denominations printed on the chip. I would recommend something similar xP

The chips can be what your bundget affords, the cards on the other hand must be high quality and replaced with regularity or if they show any markings, one major problem in for cash home/underground games for real cash is small amounts of damage on cards is majorly exploitable, and no one is gonna say a dam thing when they can see tiny markings.
