Do any CC members use this method to fund their poker accounts? I'm very interested to hear feedback about this company right now because it appears to me to be in a prime position to lead the market.

I read on RGP that some folks say they are slow to process. I haven't tried them yet, but they look like they are widely accepted.

US credit card companies do not permit it.

Which goes back to something Nate said about debit cards........
If my ATM card has a Visa Logo, will they permit a transfer or not?
Does the Visa logo make them treat it as a credit card or can it be used as a debit card?

I'm in the middle of setting up an epassporte, but it takes a few days to do.
I'll let eveyone know how it goes, probably next week.

If it is a debit card the company has no say because it is your own money you r tranferring whilst credit it is a loan from them to you so they can block it. tht is the policy in europe tho may be different in us

I have a debit card and it has always been declined, they have no say? seems the government has more say in what we do with our money then what we say.

Hey Freak, here's a logical but untested theory:

If they use the number on the card, it's treated as a Visa. If they use your chkg acct number, it's treated as a debit.

Just a theory.

Typically, if it's being used as a debit card, you need to enter your PIN. If it's being processed as a VISA, you don't.

Now, I've had hit and misses w/ my debit card. I've used it a Paradise in the past, and it would clear, other times not...so.. :dontknow: I say, just try it. Worst thing they can do is decline the transaction.

Paradise originally got away with certain Visas by coding the transactions incorrectly - but they eventually all caught on to it.

Hm. Could anyone with any firsthand experience using ePassporte provide a recommendation one way or the other? I'm not sure what to make of their BBB rating either, but it makes me a bit worrisome as I was planning on using them to withdraw to my bank account in the next few days.

That rating might be just due to the sketchy e-wallet industry, not a direct reflection on them.

Freak is in process of getting an ePassporte acct going. He should report on it when he's up & running.

This is from my earlie post:

I use it. It's a little slow but is secure. I used a bank transfer which takes a lot longer then using a debit card. Make sure your debit card has a visa logo. After it is all setup and loaded, it is very easy you use. I use it to fund my Full Tilt account.

I like it. It is an online Visa card so you can use it for anything that excepts visa.

I set one up and had money in my pokerstars account all in a matter of about 5 minutes. I just created an epassporte account and supplied a credit card number to fund it. They put a small credit on my card to verify it, similar to what paypal does to verify. I just looked at how much they credited to it online on my statement, submitted that number on epassporte's site, and boom money was in there. Then I put it on pokerstars right away.

It was really easy for me. I have heard that others transactions were pending for a while. Maybe mine was so quick because it was a credit card instead of a bank transfer.

I just tried to open an account. On the page where you enter in your CC info, it has a Visa and a MC logo. I have a MC debit.

It would not take it. I pulled up the menu for Limited Access for US residents - said we cannot load w/ CCs. Gave the option for checking account info.

More skeptical about that, but all in all, I guess it's the same as having my debit card number.

Haven't decided to do it yet.

I am a US resident and it let me load with a CC. I did get a block put on my card though by Mastercard because they said the activity looked suspicious. I had to call mastercard and verify that it was a legit charge so that they would lift the block. They didn't seem to have any problem with me using it on that sight, they were just worried the card was stolen from me and put a block on it apparently.

Alrighty folks.....there are 3 threads on this but I'm only posting on this one......

My Epassporte is FINALLY funded.......BUT..........and this sucks big time....
I must have missed some charges in the fine print because there is not as much money in the account as I thought there would be.

I only wanted to deposit a minimum in case the whole site was a scam so I looked to see how much the min. at Pokerstars is to deposit with a epassporte.
Turns out it's $50, so that's what I was going to put into my new "e-wallet".
I read about e-passporte and I thought they said there was a only a $2 charge to fund your account.

So I deposited $52 (so I would have a $50 balance)......in fact when I loaded the account it even did the conversion for me at the bottom.......

Now to make this long story short........there is only $47 in my epassporte account!!!!
Not enought to deposit at Stars unless I add more cash to the account (which surely will take another 2 weeks)
WTF! where did I miss the extra charges???????

I just reread the link Mr.Sticker posted and read about a $5 load fee.......I guess that's where the $5 went.......BUT that's not what it said when signing up.......I'm not very excited about this method of funding......and I'm stuck having to do it again just to use the money I have in there.....
Thumbs down to epassporte from me.

Freak, I'm pretty sure the minimum deposit at Stars is $30. Unless they've changed that in the last month or two.
