Tom Dwan, who plays as durrr on FT, has offered up this challenge (the 'durrr challenge'):

Play 50,000 HU hands of NLHE or PLO at $200/$400, 4-tabling at all times. If Durrr wins, loser must pay $500,000. If Durrr loses, he pays $1.5M. Only caveat is he is excluding Phil Galfond (OMGClayAiken) from the challenge. Phil Ivey, David Benyamine and Patrick Antonius are taking him up on it...

How does he win or lose?

Are they betting whether or not he can play that much or are they betting on if he makes money while doing it?

If u win 1BB or more over the 50K hands Durrr gives u 1,5M if Durrr wins 1BB or more over the 50K hands u give him 500K

Edit: + the winner obviously keeps all the profits from the 50k hands

Should be seriously interesting this. Durrrr has a lot at stake here, as it could seriously affect his reputation. From what I've read, only Ivey is confirmed, with David Benyamine and Patrick Antonius just considering it at the moment. Dwan also needs to stipulate that a percentage of the games be played at NLHE in my opinion, as that's where he's probably got the biggest edge. I heard Ivey saying someone could go bust, which imo, is just rubbish, even with pride at stake, Dwan, or any of them, aren't stupid enough to lose their entire rolls on this.

Durrrr should take this @ NLHE against david benyamine, omg, worst opponent I think would be Phil.

Umm, yes...Durrr and OMGClayAiken pretty much crush the top live poker pros at the high stakes games at FT.

I've read that Durrr feels his edge is bigger at PLO actually. Yes, he won't play Galfond because he feels his edge is huge over the guys who are basically live pros and not used to multitabling.

yea this is definitely quite interesting. Definitely will be cool to observe. Dwan's got game obviously, but maybe theres some extra incentive in it for someone like Ivey to do it.

What is going to be REALLY interesting is the last 3 or 4 hands, imagine a two-to-one chip stack, Durrrr will get crazy knowing he's going to loose $1.5M, of course that is, if someones willing to play him 5 hours a day for a month, against the same guy day after day..

Umm nope. ;)

Fold, Fold, Fold, Fold. Fold.

In fact the moment one of them had a lead that could sustain the blinds for the remaining hands I imagine this is how it will go.

I guess the other pros just refuse to play durrrr HU nowadays so he needs to pay them to join his game. :D

so once they're up 1.50001 mil, they'd pay 1.5 mil in blinds to be guaranteed 1.5mil in winnings rather than playing breakeven poker or just nittin up a bit? I DONT THINK SO

when someone gets up x amount with only x amount of hands to go where they can fold to win the bet, the bet is over. So basically, 50k hands won't happen

i cant be the only one that worries what can happen to durrrr with this thing

if he does play 3 of these, esp against these 3 (ivey insanely rich, awesome player, pa the same as ivey, and db who will get backed and loves to play a hundred hours a week)

this isnt even taking into account skill and who is better
for the sake of argument lets say they are all equal on the skill part, what if someone gets stuck in a bad downswing (durrrr i mean)

if he loses match 1, has to buy out and then has to play the next 2 with that on his mind, esp since 20 or 30 buyins to each at this level could cripple him

i hear stories on 2+2 that durrrr is worth 10mil or more, but he could easily lose that if he does all 3 matches

db is probably the only other guy that can go busto in this, but he will no doubt be backed by his crew, so he will more or less be freerolling and since he loves the volume they may even be putting him in first to start to wear durrrr down

even if he can only breakeven (and even if he pays durrrr the 500k), it may be worth it for pa and ivey, since that match alone surely will take its toll on durrrr

i know that durrrr plays this nosebleeders everyday, but 3 months of 4tabling 50 hours a week, can burnout any of the best

Don't really worry about durrrr, no. Pretty sure if he went busto he'd have no problem getting staked to get right back in the game anyway.

they usually never get back on top
