I just read a post by gentlman who won a nice bit of $$ on Duplicate Poker. I never heard of this card room so I googled it and visited thier site. The are pimping this banner that says "Only legal US poker room." I though all poker sites were illegal in the US. Can sombody expain why they can make this claim? Also I noticed one or two individules made comments about never playing on their site. What is the 411 with this card room and why does Cardschat not have a link to their site?

If you read the info on the site then you will see that it is not actually a true poker site. It is portrayed as a skill gaming site as you play against other players on different tables all being dealt the same hands. The winners being those that make the most from a set amount of hands.

The irony of this is that it is in fact less skill and more luck than a standard poker site as for example.

Following 7 out of 8 hands to be played you are sitting in first place. You get dealt 6 4 os. The other 2 players at your table are also doing ok and so the pot ends up being tiny or one of them bets out then you are going to fold. However on one of the other tables you have 3 donkeys who wade all in on this hand to try to luck out and get into the winning positions. 64 hits a miracle board and donkey knocks you out of the winning place.

Not likely to catch on tbh

yeah I was also curious about this because of that post about it yesterday, and I went to their website and checked out the rules. Seems like a very strange concept, and now I see why so many people on here say to steer clear of that website. Not really poker IMO.

its a lot to explain but if you read the rules and the facts on how exactly the game the have is played youll be confused at first and eventually understand its not close to regular holdem....to me i did not enjoy it and it seemed more like an allin try and get lucky type of thing, honestly i think a much better game could be made by revamping holdem.....

I took their tour and had more question at the end then I had going in. I couldn't figure out how the winner was determined. I didn't sound at all like something I would try, maybe if I could play a few hands without downloading their softwear.

I spent exactly two hours and turned my free $3 into $22 on there. And not once during this time did i know what the $#$#$ I was doing. lol I swear most of the time when you do what they call a "MTT" you can just play maybe two hands and still win the whole thing because your stack has to be > then two other people. Weird....
