I saw a guy fold once on the river when the nuts were on the board. It was broadway and the other guy said all-in after the river and I almost laughed out loud. I expected the guy to instacall. Instead he thought for a minute and said "I think I got you, but you can have it". I will never forget the look on everyones faces at the table. Everyone at the table had to explain to him that he had the nuts, and I don't think he ever figured it out. The guy was talking like he was some kind of pro before that hand.

I do not know if it is all that weird.

I always push hard in that situation and am always a little surprised to see folders. They do fold and maybe more often than you would think.

It's very funny you should say "he sounded like a poker pro before that hand".

Last week at my home game, a new player was invited by one of our regulars. He sat down at our table with Oakley sunglasses, a FullTilt hat, and kept his leather jacket on the whole time. I instantly thought "wow this guy is sure playing the part of a poker pro." He was very quiet at first, playing very very tight. About 30 minutes had gone by, and he started being a bit too vocal and blatently bluffing at small pots. Trying to drop "poker terms" like he invented them, I could tell the guy had no idea what he was doing, and had been watching way too much wsop on ESPN.

An hour had gone by and now I was just "toying" with the poor guy. Pretending like I had no idea what I was doing at the table, and even asking him for advice or to clarify what he meant by "the nuts".Everyone at the table played along (even the gal that had invited him.)

I wasn't gaining chips, and I wasn't loosing them. I was playing very tight, waiting for the perfect chance to bust him. I check my hole cards (AK<>) and raise. The table folds, except for our "Pro".

He calls, and the flop gives me nut flush (2,4,10<>) I bet 4xBB expecting a quick fold. He calls.

Turn is 5C. I bet pot, he calls.

River comes down 4H.

I push , and he folds.

The "pro" flips over pocket 10's and says "F**K man, I know you have that flush, and I don't wanna loose all my money"

Everyone at the table laughs, and I say "yeah, it's a good thing you got outta that one"

His arrogance, and lack of basic poker knowledge paid me off big time!

Dumb Fold

I remember one time that i can never forget when i was playing online, this is because a Royal Flush came down on the table in an MTT that i was playing in!to cut a long story short, it was quite a large pot by the time that the river card was dealt, with 3 of us still in the hand. The person in front of me immediately went all in, i let the time run down as you do in these situations, then quickly called. The 3rd person in the hand however seemed a little bit confused, he also ran the clock a little bit, i figured he was doing the same thing as me, but then all of a sudden threw his cards away. i honestly couldn't believe it, obviously after the hand the table chat was hilarious!

I've had the board come KKKKA online, and 2 or 3 people folded to my all in.

I wondered how you could possibly be that stupid.

I love it when people go all in with a board like A A A K when they have either the king or a pocket pair and you or someone insta calls and turns over quad aces, that just makes my day.

Ive seen the same thing, someone folding to broadway.

Just yesterday the board was A K Q 10 9 all spades and a guy went allin with the other person took ages to call.

I love it when you push off someone for a split, like when the board is 10 10 10 6 6 and u represent a better pair than 66

Jack of spades could win it in the first hand. And trying to push someone off is dangerous in the second hand, anything 66 or higher will felt you. You're risking a lot to win relatively little, and the chances that they will fold are small.
