Well,

We all knew it had to end somewhere. After conservatively building my $80 to $120, I decided to take a BIG chance.
:withstupi

I sat down at a $2/$5 NL Holdem table with my measly $100 min buyin, and proceded to play fairly well for over an hour. At my peak I had $140 at the table, but that all came crashing down when (in the big blind) I was dealt 7-2 off. I of course was allowed to see the flop J-7-2 with 2 diamonds. Yay I thought, here is my chance to score. So with $30 in the pot, I make a $30 bet. One caller.

Turn is a 4 of diamonds to fill the flush. I check, so does he. The last card is a black King. I check, he pushes all in, and I like the idiot I am CALL.

Him = Flush
Me = Two Pair

Now, you'd think a pot sized bet after the flop would have pushed him out, but I guess not. AND NOW I"M BROKE AT THAT SITE.

Sigh.

everyone knows if you are playing nolimit and you get 72o in the blinds you go all in preflop ;]

still they are doing $300 100% matched bonus on there now, time to cash out of william hill and move on over

shame they don't have any stud tables though, getting in my hilo groove

and for the record I have made plenty of stupid calls like that, good reason to stick to limit poker heh

My take is that it is a pretty loose call of the all-in on your part. You led at the pot for $30 and he flat-called you. That should raise some alarm bells and slow you down. Least you could put him on is top pair and big kicker. Perhaps top pair and flush draw. The daimond turn could have given him a flush... the river K could have given him two pairs. If he had top pair and big kicker... it is likely that he hit two pair with the K. If he had top pair and flush chase, he would have made the flush on the turn, and slowplayed it.

This is not even considering trips....though trips is unlikely as he would protect his trips after the flop is he saw you lead with a $30 bet.

And this is not even considering if he flopped two pairs himself....both bigger... J7..or a less likely, J2.

Just my 2 cents. ;)

Oh ya, all those possibilities exist. Like I said it was seriously dumb on my part. One of my few (but many) mental lapses.

I am a Noble poker convert. That new bonus RULES! Everyday lately they credit ten dollars to my account. Traffic is still low but if would recommend you give it a long look. IMHO
