I would never play in a tournament that had a dress code that did not permit jeans and comfortable clothes.

I think it'd be very boring if it was shirt and tie events. There's loads of characters in poker and I do think it's very important you are comfortable to concentrate on your hands and what's happening round about.

I would hate to have a dress code thats the whole reason i dont go to weddings or funerals. But I must say I like playing online best because what I wear playing has not been allowed at the tables as of yet.:D:D

A dress code for all kinds of poker would be pretty borring. The way it is now is good, you allways have something funny to see. Like that you can see the different caracteristics of the different Players world wide.

I think there shouldn't be a dress code for poker players. I like the way it is right now and everyone should wear clothes in which they are feeling comfortable.

I also consider how one dresses at the poker table. If you're savvy you'll not dress like the stereotypical "reg" in hoodies and headphones. I immediately mentally note these people as probably reg grinders. Not always the case but definitely think how you dress at the table. And what you bring to the table and do. If you're bringing your homemade healthy dinner in tupperware to eat at the table or if you bring a backpack with tons of snacks I know you're probably a grinder and if you bring a change of clothes and a sleeping bag then I KNOW you're a grinder. :)

I know I'm better than some of the players in my local card room. I dress like I'm just there for fun or a night out. Some see through it by my play, others assume I'm just a tourist trying my luck. :)

I tend to , at least for now, want to keep myself "forgotten" at the table until I come out of nowhere making moves. I tend to wear darker solid colored clothes that aren't too tight to reduce detection of of changes to breathing rate or adrenaline rushes causing unintentional shaking or movement. The darker plain colors also I think help keep people's eyes from being drawn to me. I sometimes will wear a hoodie or jacket but only because I'm cold.

Exactly. The important thing is to feel good while playing.

I hope the day never comes when there is a dress code to play poker. We have to play for long hours and encounter many tough spots so wearing something comfortable is a necessity.

I'm not advocating a dress code, obviously when you're spending hours upon hours at the poker table you need to be as comfortable as possible. But I do feel when you are at a final table, especially when it's televised, wearing clothes that don't look like you slept in them and looking presentable (believe it or not, looking presentable can be comfortable too :p) is so much better than looking like you might be homeless. As for me, if I ever make a final table, be it televised or not, I'm decking out to the nines with full makeup, I'm gonna WOW them

You can wear anything you like as long as your comfortable with your dress. In standard poker game dress code does not exist. If it's a tournament dress code depend on the organizers.
