Just played a $60 buy-in tournament at my local casino. Spent the first 2 hours grinding up a stack to $12000. PLaying fairly straight poker. Hit one home run with pocket aces to double my stack early on. The blinds are at 400/800 100 ante. Im in middle position. Player to my right raises to 2100. I call with pocket 9s. 2 more players call including the button. small blind big blind fold. Ten players * 100 ante plus 1200 in the blinds. that puts the pot at 10,600. flop comes jh 9h 2d. Initial raiser checks. And heres where I make the play that would lead to my demise. I bet only 2,100. Button calls both other players fold. Turn comes a king of spades. I got about 7-8000 left and move all-in. The button shows q-10. turn comes a ten and my tournament life ends. In hindsight, I shouldve waged a larger bet. Close to the pot wouldve pushed everybody out but instead I attempted to lure in the chasers and it paid off for one of em. Lesson learned, so not to be discouraged I'll be back tomorrow!
